Question about eMachines E19T6W 19" Monitor

Open Question

E-Machine Monitor, Model # LE1799, Product # E17T6W - How can I take it out of "Auto Processing" mode? The problem is that the geometry of the screen is about 1/4 inch too low. I can't raise it up. I can't take it off of "auto processing". When I press the auto processing button, the screen moves up to its proper position while the "auto processing" is in process, but when it is over (about 3 seconds), it automatically goes back down about 1/4 inch too low.

SOURCE: "Processing Auto Configuration" keeps showing up on my screen.

I have the same problem. I turn on the computer and get the message box "Processing Auto Configuration" blinking in the middle of my screen. I can keep using it or working on it, but it is very annoying. Whenever the message box pops up, the screen jiggles. I have tried to adjust the OSD but that doesn't seem to do anything and I cannot seem to use the Auto/Set button on the monitor or at least it doesn't seem to do anything. I have gone into troubleshooting the monitor, but get or find nothing there to help. I would appreciate a fix to this problem.

SOURCE: Monitor will not turn off and keeps flashing the words Auto processing

My monitor is an hp pavilion f1503, at least 4yrs old.

And yes, I did push the power button, repeatedly (the first few months that this happened, not every few seconds). And now, again, it won't shut off at all. I'm pretty much thinking I'm screwbied until such a time when I want to go spend the bux on a new monitor, and by that time a new pc as well!

The only way to get the menu to stop blinking on and off is to slide a piece of plastic (like a keyring discount card) on top of the Menu button on the monitor. Otherwise, menu keeps popping up, and it goes directly to the brightness/contrast submenu, and then adjusts itself from +100 to -0, on the brightness. It's just possessed.

Screen often displays a window with this text: "processing auto image adjustment"

that is a windows screen and not the monitor. check to see if you are out of range on your resolution and geometry.

Setting resolution

Adjusting the resolution is done in Windows. Right click on the desktop and click on properties. Once that opens click on the Settings tab. There you will have a slider bar that you can adjust your resolution with. As far as being able to see things clearly on the monitor, the best picture is usually obtained simply by pushing the AUTO button.

Monitor will not turn off and keeps flashing the words Auto processing

it is not a bad rom. if it was a rom it would constantly act up but it only acts up upon overheating. The solution is difficult but if you open the monitor you can find all of the heatsinks take them of and replace them with bigger ones. or have a fan blowing on it at all time it is active i added bigger heatsinks to my emachine le1799 and it solved this problem of pulling up menu and changing setting by itself and the lack of the ability to turn power of.
