You need to pull up the menu screen and see if the lines are also on that screen. After you get back to me I'll point you in the right direction. Joe

The buttons give no result, so I cannot see a menu screen, just stripes which stay. It only acts on the power on/off button. (the tv set turns correct on and off). Tnx for helping! Frank

Hi Eagle, thanks for you help
I don't know if you saw my last reaction, so.. no sound at all

  • f_h_m_brouwe Nov 12, 2010

    What happened was next:
At first screen was dark, pictures were double, and slow (fading).
I brought it to a dealer who said it was a softwareproblem.
I took my tv back and turned it on, I saw only stripes, nothing else.
    Does a factory reset help?

Hi eagle, how much does a replacement cost when I order one from you? Is it easy to replace or should I turn to a professional? (which I'm not).

  • f_h_m_brouwe Nov 15, 2010

Thanks Eagle338, I will consider your advice. Can you give me the link of the store and the name and part# of the board?

  • f_h_m_brouwe Nov 18, 2010

Yesterday I removed the back cover. I see 2 boards, left a brown boad part# A-1276-472-A and on the right side a green boad for connectors, with a yellow sticker 5.27 B5.
There is a little metal plate in the middle on the top, with LJ63-04246A. I didn't see a large board. I made a picture of it, can I send it to you by mail?

So you think the green boad is causing troubles? 5.27 B5 is on the yellow sticker on it. There are many numbers on that board, mostly of the parts that are connected to the board, but I will look again. This weekend I will look again and search for boardnumbers.

No it won't . This definitely is a problem with the audio/video mainboard of the set. You have to get it replaced. The problem has just got worse with time. You can get a replacement for about 100-125$(refurbished). I can find you one if you want.

Well I do not sell parts , but I can link you to the store from where you cannot get one of them. LIke I said it costs 100-125$ and it is not very hard to replace, but if you do not mind spending an extra 100$ for the tech to replace it(you purchase the board, the techs will charge you around 300-400$ for the board!)

I surely will, but you are gonna have ti get me the part number from a label thats on the board, along with any revision version if any. Just want to make sure that you get exactly the same part, so its recommended that we order using the part number thats on the board. If you remove the back cover, you can see it at the center of the set a large board usually covered by a metal plate.

The one in the first 2 images looks like it but 5.27 B5 does not look like a part number. Can you please get me any other numbers off the board so that I can find you the part?

You need to take it to a TV repair service, preferably one that specialises in Sony TV's. There is nothing you can do to fix this yourself.

It sounds like you might have a defective LCD panel. Your warranty for your TV is 18 months. Some of these models the warranty was mis-printed and said only 12 months.

I'd say about the blinking to a black screen would be your cable provider. As for the stripes that means that your board panels can be going bad, you can try updating the firmware of the TV to help but if that doesn't work you're getting very close to full failure on the TV.

How to do a complete factory reset of a Sony Bravia KDL-32P3000

Just talked with Sony Support today.

It seems that Sony in Denmark had sent out new software updates (over DVB-T) but also some wrong TV's got updated as well. This caused my DVB-T tuner to not function anymore so I wanted to try a factory reset and it fixed my problem.

So I was instructed on how to do this. I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32P3000 (which should be similar to the U3000 and S3000 as well).

This is how to do a factory reset of your Sony Bravia KDL-32 P/U/S-3000 TV.

PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THE SERVICE MENU, YOU CAN EASILY CAUSE YOUR TV TO MAL-FUNCTION!!!! IF YOU FOLLOW THIS GUIDE IT IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

Set your TV in standy (use the green power butten on your remote), RED standby LED is ON on your TV.

Now press these buttons in this order on your remote (pointing to the TV).
i+
5
VOL UP (+)
GREEN POWER button

NOW BE CAREFUL! Dont press any keys just for the fun of it!!! IT MAY DESTROY YOUR TV.
You should now be in the service menu. It will show up as some green letter/numbers spread over the screen (mine are a bit hard to see/a bit faded). In the upper right corner you should have 2 letters TT (two t's).

Now carefully press key 0 and then key 8 on your remote (they should be shown on the screen after the two TT).

Now wait a little while (more than 10 seconds) and your TV should reset with factory settings, just as if you had just brought it home from the TV store.

Best wishes,
Mads
