Well, you should insert the paper "from the upside tray". Follow these steps:
Align the edges of the paper before loading it;
Open the paper support of "the upside tray" and pull out the paper support extension;
Open the paper output tray ("tray that is down");
Adjust the position of the paper thickness lever;
Load the paper in the auto sheet feeder with the print side facing UP;
Align the paper stack against the right side of the auto sheet feeder.
Pinch the paper guide and slide it against the left side of the paper stack.

E3 message on my canon printer

Hello,

E3 error stands for paper jam. Unplug the printer completely from all cables. Lift it up, turn it upside down and shake it a bit to see if anything comes loose. Check the rear access and front access using a flashlight to look for any tiny paper scraps or anything else that could be hard to see. Try forcing a very thick piece of paper into the rollers to see if it dislodges anything. Finally try using a dampened lint free cloth to clean the rollers in the printer.

In case this won't help, then it sounds like a hardware damage. Probably a damaged roller.

Hi how do you print double sided please

This printer does not have a duplex unit and cannot print double sided prints automatically.
The only way to print double sided is to print page 1 and the insert the page back into the printer tray with the page upside down and then print page 2. Repeat this for the other pages.
You need to do a test print first to work out which way to insert the page upside down in the printer paper tray so the printed text is aligned correctly on both sides of the page.

I changed the black ink cartridge recently and it

Hello there
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

Paper not feeding in straight - pulls to one side

Hi,
Kindly check if any paper piece has jammed. Kindly also check if the tray sensor is working. Most cases what I have found is paper pieces. Try turning the printer upside down and shake and then replug the connections.
Good Luck.

How do I print onto an envelope? Where do I put the envelope so as to get it to print out?

If you take the paper out of it, there is usually a picture of how envelopes are to be inserted for printing on the paper tray. Most likely the envelope goes upside down, either over to the far left or right of the paper tray, the paper guide would slide up agaisnt it flush.

Paper will not feed inti printer

The sensor that detects paper (most cases just a small lever that is pushed up by paper in the tray) isn't engaging. It could be that the paper is not fully inserted, or sometimes in a paper jam, people pull the jammed page out backwards, bending or dislodging the lever. Very common in back-fed printers and shredders.

Sometimes just a visual inspection with a bright light source can show the problem. Be careful not to turn the printer on its side or upside down for any length of time. Inkjet printers usually use a sponge for excess ink discharged during the cleaning process and that can run out and seriously gum up the works, electronics, carpet, and whatever else you really don't want it to.
