It is exactly that, no ethernet. Check the switch, do you get a link light on the switch?

What is the IP of the phone? Can you ping the phone from a computer?

PC link light is off while Internet and cable activity lights' are solid. Can not connect to the internet. Can it be fixed? If so, how?

The PC link light is your indicator if there is a device connected to the modem through the ethernet port. If its off, then you may need to check the connection once again whether it be a PC connected hardwired to the modem or a router. Replacing the ethernet cable can also help because it might also be a defective ethernet cable. As long as the internet and cable activity lights are both solid, its ok because that means your modem is receiving the signal from your provider.

I am trying to connect my Belking G Wireless Router with Comcast what do I need to do to make this happen?

Connect the ethernet cable from back of cable modem to the LAN port on the back of the Belkin Router. Next you will need to run another Ethernet cable from port 1 of the router to a computer. Type in the address "192.168.1.1" or "192.168.0.1" into the address bar on Internet Explorer and setup your SSID for the network and any security you want on the network (optional but recommended). Once this is complete you will only need to connect to the network (the SSID you chose during setup) on your PC.

I need to know where to plug the big yellow phone cord. One end goes in the top plug in the back of the router and where does the other end go? In the back of the motorola motem? What else is supposed to...

Hello,
The cord you are referring to is a CAT5 network cable. The color isn't important, but they usually ship the routers with color cords to help with the installation. Typically you would have the following setup:

1. A CAT5 network cable that runs from your broadband modem TO your Belkin Wireless Router in the "Internet" port. (Port "a" in the diagram)
2. Now plug another CAT5 network cable in to the back of your computer's Network Interface Cord TO one of the remaining ports on your Belkin Wireless (Any of the port "b" in the diagram).

However, you will need to run the configuration software that come with your router.

Please let me know if I can further assist you.

How to setup xbox live

To set up the connection via a router unplug the router and the modem and turn off the 360. Connect an Ethernet cable to one of the out ports of the preexisting router then connect the cord to the back of your 360. Plug everything back in and turn and give the modem and router about 3 minutes to reboot.

Once you have given everything a few minutes to reboot you can turn the 360 back on. If you have already set up a gamer profile you will see the Xbox Live screen. If you have not set up an account you will be prompted to do so. All you need to do is follow the on screen instructions. It is a pretty cut and dry process and should not take more than 10 minutes of your time.
If you want to go wireless or you must go wireless you will need to get the Xbox360 wireless network adapter. The adapters are available at most stores that sell 360 games or you can order it online. Once you have the adapter unplug any Ethernet cable you might have plugged into the 360 then clip the Network adapter to the back of the 360. It is really easy to see where it belongs, but just in case, the adapter will sit right alongside the USB port which is right above the Ethernet port. Once you have clipped it in plug the USB cable that is attached to the adapter into the port on the Xbox 360. Flip up the antenna that is laying flat against the adapter and you are set, well almost set.

Turn on the 360 and head into the System tray. You will see Network options, go ahead into that screen and follow it through to the "Edit Settings" subcategory. The Network name should appear on a list of available networks. Select your network and enter the password, if there is a password. Exit out and you should be ready to play.

Setup belkin wireless network

Hi,
1.Connect a Cat5 cable into the Ethernet port on the back of your cable or DSL modem. Plug the other end of the cable into the "Connect to Modem Internet/WAN" port on the back of the Belkin Router.
2.Connect a Cat5 cable into the "Ethernet" port on the back of any desktop or stationary computers and then plug the other end of the cable into one of the LAN ports on the back of the Belkin Router. Start with port one and work your way up with subsequent computer connections.
3.Turn the Belkin Router on by plugging the router into a power outlet. Allow 30 seconds for the router to fully boot up. All computers tethered to the modem via a Cat5 cable have access to the Internet.
4.Open the Wi-Fi Wizard on your laptop and turn on the Wi-Fi antenna. Once turned on, the Wizard finds all network connections in your area. Connect to your network to establish an Internet connection. Complete this step for each computer not tethered to the Belkin Router with a Cat5 cable.

I dont know how to set up my xbox live with an eathernet cable can you help?

Hi there

Turn off the Xbox 360 by pressing the power button on the front of the console. Afterward, shut off your modem by unplugging its power cord.
  • 2 Insert one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port located at the back of your Xbox 360 console. After that, insert the other end of the cable into your modem.
  • 3 Replug the power cord into your modem to turn it back on. Once it is active, press the power button on your Xbox 360 to turn it on.
  • 4 Navigate to "My Xbox" then "System Settings." Afterwards, select "Network Settings" then "Test Xbox LIVE Connection." You will be notified on-screen if the connection is successful.

My mouse/touchpad is unresponsive when LAN cable is connected

try booting in safe mode. restart laptop keep tapping f8 then boot safe mode with networking. once you booted to safe mode with networking try plugging in the ethernet cable to the lan port check if it still freezes the touchpad mouse pointer. if not then try to ran full system scan antivirus and check running programs on startup that might cause the conflict. if the problem exist in safe mode with networking download the latest bios for your system.

How can i connect a toshiba runniung windows me. to the internet via ethernet cable? is it possible with just the cable and no card? is there a programe i can download to help my laptop? what can i do?

    Hi,
It should have a LAN (network card) built in to the laptop.
First of all make sure you have the LAN (network drivers) installed. You can do this by checking in device manager.
To open device manager click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click the System icon. Click the Device Manager tab and look in the list for network adapters/controllers.

If the driver is installed you should be able to directly connect the ethernet cable to your laptop.

I'm not quite sure where the ethernet port is on that particular laptop but it will be on the back or sides of the unit and it will be the only port the ethernet cable fits into.

From there you should be good to go, if you can't get a connection reset the modem by removing power from it for 2 minutes, connect the power again, wait another 2 minutes for the device to settle and try the internet connection again.

    Regards.
