Helo selbelt,
Try this:
Conect your Camera to teh computer by USB.
Then click on Start,
then MY PC
then click on your camera harddrive.
there should be the folders with the pictures/videos,
Then copy them and paste them on another folder on your computer (or dragg the files)

Good luck, and let me know if this dosent help

Hello,

Vista should automatically recognize your camera when you have the camera set to USB Disk Drive, then connect via USB cable.

Im sorry to say your product is discontinued and there are no drivers for vista.

    See here

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

the only way to get images into your pc is to use a card reader on your pc.

You need to save the pictures from the camera into the memory card and then transfer the card into the card reader and you get the pictures into your pc.

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

your camera uses a CF memory card - you will need a cf card reader.

Here is a cheap cf reader I found on ebay look for something similiar

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

what kind of problems you get when you use a card reader?

When you plug the cardreader in with the card you should see it as a new drive in your computer. there you can open the drive and find the pictures inside.

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

you may have a faulty card reader or you are doing something wrong, this is the only way to get the pictures into your pc since no software has been made for vista.

Can you please explain why the card reader is not working or what happens.

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

Basicly how to get images from a card

ones pluged in you get a notification of new hardware.

Ones its installed you can open my computer

ones connected correctly you should see it as a removeable storage device

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

try the card reader in another computer or try another card reader.

it may also be that the card reader doesn't support the card you have inserted.

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

if the card reader doesn't work in another computer then the card reader is most likely faulty.

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

according to hp you should be able to use the camera in your vista, read here

    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/docum...

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

Something is wrong with vista in that case.

If you right click on my computer and select manage.

from the computer management on the left side select

device manager, ones the card reader is pluged in do you see anything with a yellow ! mark?

Like that' that indicates a error with the device if you right click and select properties give us the error code if there is such.

  • Ekse Jun 18, 2008

Driver detective costs money and probably wont solve the problem. If it did solve the problem let us know.

SOURCE: I tried using my HP Photosmart 318 photo imaging

As a work-around, you should try using Picasa to download the pictures off of your camera.

Picasa is a free download from Google and has many cutting-edge features for picture management. I think that you'll like it.

  • Download Picasa from their web site (click here) to your Desktop
  • Once the Picasa file has completed downloading, Open the file and follow the directions displayed.
  • Once you have Picasa installed, connect your Olympus camera. Picasa will recognize that you have connected the camera and ask you how you want to proceed.
  • Have Picasa copy the images from your camera
  • You can then use Picasa to handle the photos from your camera.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Photosmart 435 won't connect on a Vista machine

This is because your camera is of old version and vista doesn't support it. to solve this problem you should visit to the website of your camera which is given in the manual of it and download driver for vista.

My download disc works with xp operating system. I now have vista home premium how can I get a download for my camera

You don't need any additional software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

When I bought camera I had Windows XP. New computer has Vista.

So you now have Vista, but the software will not load...

If you have Windows Vista (32-bit), click this link and download the "HP photosmart software and drivers" package. Install by directions.
