Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Regards
Andrea

MyWHY yakumo 55cx is constantly taking pictures without even pressing the shutter button. and I am unable to start the flash on, EV IS ALSO VERY LOW. PLEASE HELP ME

To start, you should take out the battery. Then check if anything mechanical is wrong on or around the shutter button. Press it several times and it should feel normal. Perhaps with a click. Just as you are used to feel, in the times the camera acted normal. Perhaps you should charge the battery, before placing it back, but is you are sure there is still enough power in it, replace the battery. The removing and reinserting of the battery, acts like a cold reset on a computer.
If the error returns, please visit a dealer, or a certified repair centre.

Why does my Nikon D60 while on auto focus or quick shutter speed either not focus and take the pic or focus and not take pics?

I have a 5D Mark II that has acted up like this. 99% of the time it will reset itself it you power off, remove the lense and allow them to sync up. Try this, it may work for you too!

Nikon D200 has become nearly impossible to grab images

False low-battery warnings, focusing, and metering problems may be the result of poor contact between the body and certain lenses. Try removing your lens and thoroughly cleaning the contacts. I would recommend using a contact cleaner, but rubbing alcohol will also work. Remember that the whole ring needs to be cleaned. If that does not work, try scraping the battery contacts.

I have a Nikon FE2 and i switched the lense out from a normal lense to a macro lense, when i shot the picture my went black. so i switch the detachable lense back to the normal lense and its still black!

have you tries changing the battery in the camera. if you try to take a photo with a dead battery it will lock the mirror up. If changing the battery doesn't make the mirror release turn the shutter speed dial to "B" and that should release the mirror

I dropped my camera and now when turning camera on the shutter comes out for about 2 seconds then it beeps and then it goes back in, I can view photos but not take any.

The most of cases problems is your camera lense wont come out properly. it's appear to be a electronic problem but it's defenetly a mechanical problem. do do as i say. turn on your camera and after lense came out quickly remove the battery. after that camera lense move out shake it well. shake your camera well. your target should be remove if ther any blocking thing the way your camera lense come out. if this way wont work you have to open your camera and check your mechanism. some time it can be broken lense.

First, I am a 1st class amateur, so jargon is ?Greek? to me. However, I am studying the manual dilligently. My question concerns the batteries. I am using Panasonic Heavy Duty AA?s. I am always very...

It's essential that you state the exact make and model of your camera.

But in general many are incompatible with regular AA batteries (even heavy duty ones)and instead require that you use NiMh or even Li-ion rechargeablesinstead. The voltage, internal resistance and discharge characteristicsof these are significantly different to regular disposable AA batteriesand so the camera will report "battery empty" prematurely.

Check your manual again and if I've answered your query please return the favour by rating my answer. If not then please add a comment to my posting adding the required info for a definitive answer.

(Sorry for the repeat, FixYa ignored my instruction to post the above as an answer rather than a clarification request).

Camera powers down when pressing shutter button

I see this frequently on the E900. Every time it has been a battery issue. If you're using rechargables (the E900 came with batteries and charger in the Canadian market......not sure about the rest of the planet), they may have just worn out over time. Replace with new NI-MH (nickel metal hydride) rechargeables. If you're using throw-away AA's, try Energizer Ultimate Lithiums. I've solved many, many E900 shutting off problems simply by changing the batteries to Energizer Lithiums.
