Question about Kenwood Dishwashers
If a technician has checked the appliance, then I assume that we can exclude major faults. I also assume that you are not using half-washing option, from control panel, or the symptoms may be normal. Half washing is used only for light loads.
Ensure that you are not using any of the options: Soak, Rinse, Rapid, Light economy. This options are all for lightly soiled loads. If dishes are dirty they won't work properly. Ensure that you use Intensive or Normal program.
If the dishwasher is not cleaning properly, possible causes are:
1Poor water inlet.
Ensure that there is enough water at the bottom of the tub. Check level at mid cycle.
If water inlet is poor, then inlet hose and water level device must be checked.
2 Water not getting hot enough.
Interrupt the cycle in the mid, and check water temp. Using Intensive or Normal program, the temperature must be about 60/70 C (140/160F). If water is cold and there is a fault, then it is either inlet or heating system (depending if dual inlet), or thermostat.
3 Incorrect detergent or detergent drawer releasing too late.
Ensure that you use the right detergent (check manual). Detergent for full cycle is 22 gr. Ensure that detergent has been released and dissolved, or you have a problem with drawer opening.
4 No pressure in spray from arms orifices.
Check spray arms attachments and ensure that there are no big leaks. Clogged orifices in a one-year old machine is pretty unlikely. Ensure that spray arms are free to rotate.
If there is no other problem, then the pump should be checked for obstruction in the pump hose.
If problem is stains from hard water, then load new salt into reservoir, and regulate the reservoir cap to release more salt (see page 4 in manual).
Use liquid rinse aid and adjust dispenser release quantity if dishes are also wet apart than dirty (see page 5).
Ensure ishes are placed correctly (see page 6), or the water won't reach all the dishes in load.
Clean the drain well and filter regularly, or pump recirculating water will spray dirty water on dishes. Also clean spray arms every six months (see page 7-9)
Most common reasons for dirty dishes are improper cycle (too weak), improper detergent, or improper plates position in rack. Follow all my hints above and have a look.
