Question about Epson ACULASER CX11NF All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

Replaced empty toner cartridge and it would not seat properly. As I attempted to move the locking mechanism on the right side of the toner cartridge to lock the cartridge in place, the toner cartridge mechanism that holds all the toner cartridges moved downward (an accompanying "clicking sound was heard) and now the unit is apparently jammed and an error message "Service Req E527" is showing and all the function lights on the front panel are flashing rapidly. How can I fix this?

If you remove the toner does the message change ????

I'm betting not,, I think 1 of the springs came loose from the toner head its its most likely the one that lifts the lock mechanism to allow toner flow.. Now a technician will (might) be able to mount it back together given the holding clips from the spring aint broken..

But I'm guessing you want to try your self,, Now lets hope the candle dont cost more than the funeral..

1.) remove all toner
2.) Unmount the toner tray head (thing you just remove the toner from)
3.) you should now be able to see if a spring has slipped or if its broken.
4.) you might need to take the head apart if you dont see the problem.. but if you do and can fix it there please do..

the other option is replacing the entire head..

Only part of copy prints

When you receive a partial print there are usually only a few things that can cause it.
If you were using it as a Laser Printer and printing from your computer check the following : 1) Toner Cartridge - typically easiest to check and solve. Its either low on toner, empty, or the imaging drum had gone bad. Either way, you must replace the cartridge.

2) check and see that the cartridge is seated into the printer properly and all connections are being made (pull it out & re-seat, then check copy)
3) The part of the printer that is responsible for fixing the toner to the paper (ie..the Fuser, the part that gets hot) might have the surface of one of its rollers worn out and will cause that condition (high usage?)
4) The other is an internal electrical condition, which I will not attempt to broach in this medium. To involved for most.

If on the other hand you were using as a scanner/copier, there is a posibility that the scanner board (imagine board) has gone out and will need to be replaced. Try replacing cartridge first.....it usually does the trick. Good Luck!!

Tip

Printer stops printing before toner cartridge is empty.

You have to keep replacing your toner cartridge before it is empty. It could be anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4 full and the printer says that it is empty and needs to be replaced. <br /> <br /> This happens because of the sensing mechanism used in toner level sensing system. For the printer to know when the cartridge needs to be replaced manufacturers generally use a simple, and generally reliable system of infared emitters and sensors. An infared beam is shined through the toner cartridge from one side and a receptor senses the beam on the opposite side. As long as the beam can't shine through the cartridge all is fine and the printer thinks that the cartridge has toner. When the beam is detected by the sensor the printer thinks the cartridge is getting empty. All you need to do for a sensitive sensor is to block the path. The only thing you will lose is the ability to be warned when the toner is getting near empty. As long as you have a new toner cartridge on hand this should be of no consequence.<br /> <br /> To defeat the sensor remove the toner cartridge and look at both ends. There should be a clear window on each end for an infared beam to shine through. When full of toner the beam is blocked. If you have a sensitive sensor which can detect the beam before the toner is gone you will get a warning before the toner is completely gone. <br /> <br /> Carefully place a small piece of opaque tape, (masking or electrical tape) across the window to block the beam. Make sure that the tape is secure and will not fall off inside the printer. This should solve your problem and allow your printer to print until the toner is completely empty.<br /> <br /> Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating.<br /> <br /> hardrocko

Don"t know to change the toner it was donated and

There are usually picture instructions on the Canon toner box. But here it goes - Gently shake the toner cartridge to break up the fine toner powder. Then open up the front door, the you should see a blue handle on the right side, rotate this in the counter clockwise direction. The Developer should move to the right and gently pull this out as far as it will go. Put the toner cartridge on top of the developer assembly and gently push down until it locks in. You will have to angle the rear facing end of the cartridge so that it slips into a slot. When the cartridge is lock the tab should break away. Before pulling this tab away from the copier lift up on the cartridge to guarantee that the cartridge is locked into place. You don't want to pull the tab until locked because you will have abig mess to clean up. The tab will open up the developer unit and the toner will drop inside. The you close up the slide and at the end of this procedure you may have to place a thumb on each side of the slide and fingers on the blue finger catches to fully close the developer unit. The cartridge should release and then remove the empty toner cartridge. Throw it away, return the developer to its normal position, close the front cover.

I have attempted to install 3 different black toner cartridges in my OKI c3400. I keep getting an error: "Toner cartridge lock lever is improper, drum missing, or toner sensor error. OFFLINE." I first...

The plastic shutter in the ID is fully or partially covering the toner sensor window.

Move the cover upward to allow for the sensor to become fully exposed prior to reinstalling the drum.

Waste bottle full...can i empty it and how??

Don't be conned out of your money by Konica or any salesmen. The waste bottle can easily be emptied. There is no sensor that 'gets tripped and can't be reset' this is bull*&%t. Just take the cartridge out. Go somewhere that you can dispose of the toner (make sure it's not windy !) then turn it to the 'locked' position. This opens the port, then just shake the thing back and forth for a few minutes. You can feel getting lighter. Then turn back to unlocked. Use a vacuum to remove toner from outside of cover, then a soft cloth or wipes to get it clean. Then put it back in.

I don't know how to remove and install toner for my sharp ar-337

If you go here:
http://www.sharpusa.com/files/cop_man_ar287_337_407.pdf
You can download the operation manual for that machine, on page 4-5 they explain how to replace the toner and have pictures showing how.
here is the text on how to replace.

Adding Toner
1 Open the front cover.
2 Pull down the toner hopper lock lever and pull the toner
hopper out slowly until it stops.
3 Tap on the top of the toner cartridge 5 times. Hold the
new toner cartridge vertically and vigorously shake it
up and down about 20 times, then invert the cartridge
and again shake it up and down about 20 times. This will
loosen the toner and allow it to flow more easily into the
toner hopper.
4 Place the new toner cartridge with the tabs in the
notches as shown.
5 Slide the toner cartridge along the guides over the toner
hopper.
6 Hold the toner cartridge with one hand while pulling on
the sealing tape to remove it.
7 Tap on the top of the toner cartridge 5 times to start the
flow of toner into the toner hopper.
l If the toner cartridge was sufficiently shaken as described in step
3, it will take about 50 seconds for the cartridge to empty. Do not
remove the cartridge until it is empty. If not empty, tap on the top
of the cartridge again until empty.
8 Slide the empty toner cartridge back along the guides
and remove it.
l The cartridge opening will be closed as it is moved back along
the guides.
9 Slide the toner hopper into the copier and return the
toner hopper lock lever into place.
10 Close the front cover.
NOTE:
Add only one cartridge of toner.
