I have lost the installation CD for my HP Officejet J4580 All-in-one. Is there anywhere I can download the software for the solution centre / control panel? (that gives you control over the machine and lets you scan documents not only pictures)

Hello,
If you are not getting scan options, make sure you have installed the scanning software along with your drivers.
Check in Control Panel / Scanners and Cameras and try to scan from there.
Thanks,
Pat
You may need to have the "full-featured" software installed on your computer in order to perform scanning operations. If you do not, you may download this software for your HP model here:
For documentation click on Manuals. For the driver and other software click on Software & Driver Downloads. Then click on your operating system for available software.
Try reinstalling the printer software driver.
It is probably found on a CD that came with the unit or you can download the entire package from the HP support website.
Start Installation and then when Setup asks to connect the USB cable Plugin to your system.
Make sure the Printer is connected and Powered ON during the initial setup.
i think this shall resolve ur problem

In case you have McAfee anti Virus software install please make sure that it is not blocking the HP setup EXE files.
