You should be able to if your microsoft windows operating system is up to date and doesn't have any deficiencies, Maybe, try to reinstall windows or go to the 'recovery console' and get it back to factory specs, then allow it to go through 'automatic updates' until all of the updates are done.
Are we talking about XP, Vista, or 7?
