Question about Texas Instruments TI-86 Calculator
Screen is black, unable to see anything. I tried to push some buttons but the screen is still black.
OMG THANK YOU SOOO SOOO MUCH
i had borred my friends ti-86 and when school finished i forgot to return it. i ended up leaving the calculator in my car where the sun fried the battery.
3 months later i brought new batteries and when it turned on i only saw black and i started to freak out thinking i had to buy a new one..
ONCE again thanks for the solution

This worked great - I love FixYa and you saved me some cash as well. Who reads manuals when you have a website like this. Thanks again

I had the same problem as this. This is because when you might have changed the contrast on your calculator when your old batteries were running low and you need to reset the contrast. Here is what you do:
press the orange "2nd" button, then press the "down arrow" button, then the orange "2nd" button, then the "down arrow". do not press the buttons at the same time only one after the other and KEEP GOING. The screen will eventually lighten up and you are all set.
