Borrow an Windows install disk from one of your friends and use it and your key. Later you must install all the drivers yourself.

I am trying to run a windows recovery disk but i need the dell administrator password? thanks

The recovery disk is created by yourself?

If you have a Windows password reset disk, you can easily reset your Windows password with it. If not, you can follow the steps to create one. You just need an available computer linked to the Internet.

Step 1: Download and install Windows Password Breaker with the available computer.

Step 2: Run the program and burn a Windows password reset disk. It could be burned onto a CD/DVD OR USB flash drive.

Step 3: Turn to your locked computer, insert the newly created CD or USB to your drive. Reboot the Computer and reset the Windows password.

It is easy and safe.

Troubleshooting Stop 0x24 or NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM Error Messages

you have 2 options:

if you need to recover data from the disk you have to install the drive as a slave in another computer and fix it thru CHKDSK.

If you don't need to recover your data you can boot from you recovery disk and delete the partition completely, then recreate and re-install. if you don't have your recovery disk handy you need to use the first method.

Get black screen on reboot on my optiplex 360 by dell.can't reboot in safe mode or last good configuration etc. used the recovery disk and went thru all checks no problems found on test. don't have a...

Sorry for the basic questions, but I need to know more about the symptoms.

What do you see happening on the screen when you boot? What stage does it get to before it goes blank? From your description, if you were able to go through the recovery disk process, your monitor is presumably working.

You can try creating a boot disk on your laptop (assuming you have a cd or dvd writer on the laptop), and booting the desktop from that. You will need to set the desktop to boot from removable disc rather than internal hard disk - to do that you need to enter bios settings (press F2 while booting) and change the boot sequence.

To create a boot disk on your laptop go to

and download, then copy to a CD. This CD is bootable and has a variety of diagnostic tools including virus scans. Put it in your desktop, after changing the boot sequence, and boot from that. You PC will then start up without using Windows and you can perform various diagnostics from there.

For more detailed instructions please post a reply here and I will try to help.

Need help to reboot computer

Do you have the Recovery disk that came with your computer? If so you want to place the recovery disk in the drive, power down the computer, power it back up, holding the F12 key down so you can boot from your DVD. Go through the recovery process for the Operating System, and this should get you around the virus.

Hey i have a dell xps m140and i will like to reboot my compture to factory setting can anyone help

If you have the recovery disk is as easy as putting the disk into the drive and reboot. However, if you don't have one, and you have not deleted your recovery partition you may create a recovery disk form there, or may even be able to tell the computer to restore itself there for you. If you have none of the above you may try contacting dell about a recovery disc.
