Hi ,
I assume you are under Windows XP but this will also work under Windows 7 32 bit .
You can insert a 100GB HDD without any problem . A higher capacity is risky with your type of machine and could lead to a fatal read error , meaning you couldn't boot your unit anymore .
Under a 32 bit XP system , 2GB ram is the max.
I don't recommend changing the processor with the motherboard , you could encounter conflictual issues with the rest of the unit .
Buy yourself a new pc equiped with a I5 or better with a I7 processor running under W 7 64-bit is the solution but they still are expensive .
Best regards .

Yes, it's possible to increase both RAM & HARD DRIVE Capacity.Your Pc comes with RAM: 512 MB in size and Storage (hard drive)Capacity: 80 GB.

You can put One more 512 MB of RAM or you can replacethe ealier RAm with 1GB RAM or Put two 1 GB RAM Instead.

For Hard Drive, use your 80 GB Hard drive as external storage device, and Put a 320 Gb new Hard drive.

Change ram from 512 to 1 gig bios cannot read added ram

The original 2 sticks of 256 Mb of RAM gives you a total of 512
Mb of RAM. Two 512 Mb of RAM gives you a total of 1 Gb of RAM.
With two sticks of 512 Mb of RAM are you sure you got a total of 192 Mb of RAM, this is a lot less than the original RAM total of 512 Mb?
Should this be 1920 Mb of RAM?
If this 192 Mb is correct then the RAM modules are either not compatible with the laptop or if the RAM modules are not from the same manufacturer then they may not work together.

Most laptops have video cards that use part of the main RAM for video RAM, that is why the available RAM is less than the installed RAM modules. The amount of RAM the video card grabs depends upon the type of video card and in some cases the amount of video RAM can controlled in the BIOS setting.

Ddr ram 1 stick or two

No it doesn't. Technically, kB is 1024 Bytes, a MB is 1024 kB, and a GB is 1024 MB. The boring techno-jargon can be found here. You're fine installing two 512 MB sticks - no worries.

Bigger hard drive

I'm not sure if the motherboard supports SATA drives, so your best bet is getting any IDE (ATA) hard drive. It's up to you which kind you want. I've always been partial to Western Digital and Seagate.

If you are running Windows XP then you shouldn't have a problem with having a larger hard drive, I know Windows 2000 had some issues with them that required registery editing.
