Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

I have not gone beyond alignment stage on my hp officejet 7110 printer. I get a message initializing, then "press enter to align printheads". This is followed by "starting task, preparing the device, please wait....now printing alignment page". At this point the following leds start blinking: auto answer on/off, hook phone, needs attention, 2 sided copy, all 3 quality leds, and the power on light, while the message turn power off and on is displayed. When I do that it goes into the initializing stage and a blank page comes out. The message press enter to align printheads is displayed again so I cant proceed. Can you help? John

SOURCE: I keep getting an error (81:01)

The problem refers to basically a paper jam. I thing your problem could however be the carrage movment. There is a special oil required for the carrage, but failid this use a very thin oil such as sewing machine oil. The trick is to not use too much oil, only a drop or two over the entire length of the carrage. Also needs to be oiled is UNDER the rail towards the back. Look carefully at the back of the carrage where it has the back slider. This rail needs to be clean and lubricated. Probable easier to clean and lubricate if you remove the encoder strip.

"Press enter to align cartridges" keeps appearing

Perform the following steps to align the ink cartridges:
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the unit, wait five seconds, and then plug it back in. This will reinitialize the unit.
  2. Print another alignment test page. If the Press Enter to align message is not currently on the front panel display, complete the following steps to print an alignment page:
    1. Press Setup or Menu on the front panel (depending on the model).
    2. Press the right arrow button (>) until Maintenance or Tools is displayed, and then press Enter or OK (depending on the model).
    3. Press the right arrow button (>) until Align Print Cartridges is displayed, and then press Enter or OK (depending on the model).

Hp 6110 Printer, add wider paper size. Also align cartridge keeps appearing even after I've pressed enter and the process keeps repeating.

Press the enter key and hold it while you press the menu button. That will make the align message go away, but if just one color is missing it will always fail the alignment. The paper size is chosen in control panel and printer properties, printing preferences.

We have put new color cartridges but the color is not good... & we can see the lines of the printer head (?) It just started doing this recently. It printed beautiful pictures before! It is a hp...

Many printers need the heads aligned once you install them. Some printers will do a high level alignment however to properly allign them you should use the tools section for your printer and click the align cartridge/heads selection. If you don't see the maintenance/tools tab when you open your printer from control panel, you may be using the generic Microsoft driver and need to install the drivers from the manufacture.

Align page message

I have an OfficeJet 5780 and I have to do the alignment also. The allignment page it prints should have instructions on it. Just put it in the scanner and press "Enter". It needs to scan it to align the print heads.

This is from the manual on their website:

The HP Officejet prompts you to align cartridges every time you install or
replace a print cartridge. Aligning the cartridges ensures high-quality output.
To align the print cartridges when prompted:
1 Press Enter on the front panel.
An align cartridges (test pattern) page prints.
2 Load the align cartridges page face down in the ADF between the paperwidth
guides and press the Enter button again.
3 Recycle or discard the page.

you can bypass when asked and use last good settings by..Press and hold the Enter button, and then press Menu

This problem is caused by incorrect alignment page print out caused by faulty cartridges, ideal fix is replacement of all ink carts

HP have a webpage dedicated to this...h10025.www1.hp.com

Also get on your gloves get out your vac and suck on the carts till a little ink comes out, make sure colour cart releases all 3 colours then reinstall, can get messy.
