Question about Danby DPAC10031 Air Conditioner

1 Answer

External tank Hello, I purchased this product two years ago especially for the climatisation system it was offering, since then, I moved in an other appartment, which is half underground. Now that the summer has begun, I started to use the dehumidifier, which is working perfectly; the only problem is the external tank, which is connected and locked properly, but the water just doesn't gather in there! Do I need to install a kind of pipe or something between the internal and external tanks...?? Please help me!

I am having the same problem it seems! The internal tank just overfills and then water just leaks at the base of the machine and there is water damage to my floor. The unit is 2 weeks old, so WTF?

How do I even INSTALL the external tank?!?!? I just hook it on, but there seems to be nothing that actually drains into the tank. Am I missing a part?

Iwnat to register for 1 year additional guarantee

Hello,

If you're needing information on how to register for what a lot of stores call the 'Extended Product Protection' or Wally Word calls it the 'Product Care Plan' I believe, there are a few different ways to do it. To save time; you'd need your receipt and if they provided you with any documentation - like a tri-fold brochure explaning the extended coverage options, you'll need that too. In most cases you can register the product with only the receipt of the item.
I would need to know where you purchased the item and at least the brand, make model to tell you exactly how to do it - retailers run the extended coverage warranty in different ways. But usually it goes like this:
- product comes w/a one year warrant and they offer an additional year at the counter while you're checking it out for a fee, for example
- (or) a company is offering to extend the warrant on an item for one year after manufacturer's warranty either at checkout on their online store or possibly through an email offer - in either case - they'd request that you either fill it out online - or print and mail it in along with your receipt (some places print 2 receipts for this type of situation - one for you to keep and one that should accompany the product registration mail in, rebate mail in or extended coverage mail in.
If you purchased at counter - it all depends on where you purchased the item. Usually you can go to the retailers website and they should have a link you can click to register or another for the 2 year product protection. Click on link/follow instructions.

Or - you'll have to call by phone. It's usually a simple process where you provide them with the proper receipt information They'll take it over the phone or by email and provide you with a confirmation number for reference/troubleshooting and that's it. That's the basic system.

-- Walmart, Sam's Club
http://see.walmart.com/walmart/protection-plans
(even if you didn't purchase at counter - you can purchase the extended coverage within 30 days of your purchase)

-- Sometimes the manufacturer of the product will have a link to the underwriter (Assurion is a 3rd Party company that offers this insurance to countless manufacturers and companies - Verizon and too many others to mention use Assurion)

- So either the point of sale or the manufacturer should have the info readily available. Here's a good one though that could save you a few dollars: American Express on some or maybe all of their cards, has a pretty cool perk - if you purchase the item using your American Express - and that item/store that is selling you that item offer a one year extended warranty on top of the manufacturer's...it's free. Purchases made with your American Expresss Card on items that offer the extended year on top of the year are covered by American Express. And it's legit. They've got a few cool perks - if you buy a small, mid-size or sedan rental car - maybe vans and mini-vans, I'm not sure - and book the rental car AND pay with your American Express, you recieve standard car rental coverage insurance automatically - and are instructed by American Express to REFUSE the insurance at the door because you're already covered. - here's a link to American Express' free extended warranty extension page. So if you bought it with an American Express you're already covered.
https://www.americanexpress.com/us/content/card-benefits/extended-warranty.html
Didn't mean to get long winded on that one. All the best - Good Luck!
Thanks, Justin McCartney

Register water heater

Whirlpool water heaters are made by AOSmith company, which owns American, Reliance, State, Craftmaster and makes water heaters for Kenmore and Whirlpool.
These are good heaters.

Register Whirlpool product at following link:
http://www.whirlpoolwaterheaters.com/support/warrantyreg.aspx

It is not necessary to register product for warranty to be valid.
And if you move to new home and take water heater, then warranty does not follow. So it might be disadvantageous to register product in that circumstance.

You can see brand, model number, and serial number located on label on side of tank.
The serial number is unique and is key for warranty coverage, even if you lost receipt. Serial number shows year of manufacture in first two digits.
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Find-Age-of-water-heater.pdf

It is not necessary to register water heater for warranty to be valid, as long as following applies: Original owner, single-family non-commercial residential installation, and installation that conforms to instructions shown in product manual, and water heater is maintained as shown in product manual.

If you purchased extended warranty, then remember the warranty is carried by a third party that also requires same as above.
And the warranty may be pro-rated, rendering it nearly valueless in later years.

Typical water heater warranty:
First year of warranty covers tank-parts-labor.
After first year, the warranty shrinks to tank-parts.
The math shows that shorter warranty tank has greater percentage of full coverage.
Convert ordinary 6 year tank into 9-12-15 year tank by maintaining water heater. Especially cleaning air intake located on bottom of tank, inspecting anode rod to prevent rusting, and following maintenance schedule shown in product manual.

If the product is within the year, warranty would apply especially when you consider cost for out of warranty repair. From your description the problem is more likely the systems control board, "the brains of the camera"

Product key for Windows XP Professional service pack 2

Hello there,

FixYa does not provide product keys for any software application especially Microsoft products. Please understand that using "free" keys acquired over the internet is illegal; software piracy could get you into trouble in the future. I would suggest that you purchase your own genuine product key for Windows XP to be able to download and update your system as well and apply the latest patches from Microsoft.
