One day in the middle of a show, my tv just shut off. Now I can turn the power on and it will make noises as if it's trying to turn on, but then shuts it's self off again. Im not sure whats going on, but I have done some troubleshooting and its not the voltage in my home. What can I do to get this problem fixed? What is wrong with it?

Try resoldering the flyback transformer. Thats a common fault if that doesnt help you may need a replacemeny flyback, as thats the number one fault with that model is the flyback wearing out. If you need more assistance let me know

Hi,do you hear any strange noises? If you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on it could be the board that powers the lamp it's called the ballast. Here's the instructions to replace it :http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsung/bp47-00033a.php It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator. But if you don't hear any strange noises,tv is around 6000 hrs,2-4 yrs,It's major symptoms are clicking, electrical sounds, shuts off and on and get the lamp indicator, it could be time to replace the lamp. The lamp you need is BP9600224B you can find it here: http://www.discount-merchant.com/Samsung-BP96-00224B-OEM-Replacement-LAMP-BULB-BP-p/samsung-bp96-00224b-oem.htm?Click=48173 .Have a blessed one!
If you hear a grinding, whirling, spining or buzzing sound, that sounds to me like the COLOR WHEEL,the reason for that is because your color wheel spins at 5,000 rpms(revolution per minute) and something that modifies the balance of the disc can cause different things,Unfortionatelly the only way to check that the color wheel is working properlyis you need to check it out physically
I did some research and I found the color wheel at DM;http://www.discount-merchant.com/Samsung-Replacement-Color-Wheel-HLS-HLT-Series-p/samsungcolor_wheel_bp96-01579a.htm?CLICK=52978
This is due to bad caps read here what a cap is www.badcaps.net see you tv is getting hot as normal but the caps cannot stand it any more thus shutting the tv down. The bad caps would be more or less in the power supply unit of this TV. So you can buy a new psu or get it repaired by a expert.
Sounds like you have a bad green picture tube that has failed. To check this out; remove front speaker grill, remove small panel, you will see three CRT's (pictue tubes) sticking down, remove the little board on the middle tube then restore power. If TV stays on more then likely the CRT is bad but not always the driver on board could also be bad, check voltages.
replace the convergence board. you can get it from VanceBaldwin.com. The part number is BP95-00142E. Easy install. You can test this TV before you buy the part.
If you take off the lower back of the TV, you'll see the board mounted near the middle of the TV on the right. On mine the power connector is red. Unplug that connector, replug in the TV and turn it on. It should come on, but the picture will be a mess as the tubes won't converge (obviously).
Plug in the new board, and keep right on going... $78 delivered. Took three days.
