No power and there is a clicking noise in ac power adapter
My notebook worked fine and powered down fine last night. This morning when i plugged in the power cord it would not turn on and there is a clicking sound in the power adapter. I tried a different cord from another HP notebook and there was still a clicking noise in the power adapter. I tried taking the battery out and using the power supply but still a clicking noise and still the computer will not turn on.
Is this a possible CMOS battery (if so should there have been a warning message?), loose something inside the case, or something else?

Try to take out the battery and just use the adapter to power it on, If your done with that then try just using the battery to turn it on, if it still won't give a single light. If you can borrow an ac adapter for that laptop try it , If it still doesn't work. You'll need to replace the motherboard. Just make sure the ac adapter your gonna use is working good.
if the unit will power one with ac adapter plugged in then you have a bad battery. check to see if you dc jack on the lap top lights up when you plug in the AC. if it does not light up then your dc jack or ac adapter is bad.
could be the ac adapter, battery dead, first check them. if you find nothing there then it could be internal problems. if you know someone who has a charged battery try using it in yours. also try removing the battery and only using the ac adapter only.
