Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook
My notebook worked fine and powered down fine last night. This morning when i plugged in the power cord it would not turn on and there is a clicking sound in the power adapter. I tried a different cord from another HP notebook and there was still a clicking noise in the power adapter. I tried taking the battery out and using the power supply but still a clicking noise and still the computer will not turn on.
Is this a possible CMOS battery (if so should there have been a warning message?), loose something inside the case, or something else?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Any news on this? I have exactly the same issue this morning.

Hearing a clicking sound inside an ac adapter is something very unusual. it could be possible that this is a factory defect. call hp and ask for a replacement of another brand.
