There are lots of ways to get past it, easiest method is to download and burn a boot disc. This page looks old skool but if you follow the walk thru you'll see that it's easy to use.
Hope this info helps ;)

Hi There,

For a Dell you'll want a Dell Windows Operating System Disc. XP, or Vista. Turn on the 'puter and insert the disk. Power off. Power back on and as soon as you press the power button begin pressing F12 repeatedly. This will take you to a One Time Boot selection menu. Choose CD/DVD and hit enter. You'll then see "Press any key to boot from CD". Do so immediately and away you go.

Regards,

Selk

I do not have the username and password for my new Dell latitude 2120

There are 3 ways for you to reset Dell Latitude password. Let's specify them in 3 parts.

Part 1: Using a Password Reset Disk

When you create Windows user accounts for your Dell Latitude, you can also create a password reset disk at the same time with a USB flash drive or a floppy disk to reset forgotten password afterwards, which means you have to make this tool before you forgot Dell Latitude password. Meanwhile, this password reset disk can reset only local user account password. If you want to unlock dell latitude without password or disk, or your Dell Latitude is on a domain, please refer to Part 3.

Part 2: Reinstalling Windows System

If you have no password reset disk, Dell Latitude will suggest you to reinstall Windows system when you forgot password. However, the cost of reinstallation is huge because all your settings and data in C drive will be lost. If you don't want to lose resources on your Dell Latitude laptop, try the following method.

Part 3: Using Dell Latitude Password Reset (Reset Password without Disk)

If you want to unlock Dell Latitude (d620) without password or disk, Windows Password Recovery (Windows Password Recovery Tool) will be your best choice to access Windows 8.1/8/7/Vista/XP adminitrator in dell . It is specially designed to reset any local or domain account password without system reinstallation when you forgot password and can't log into Windows OS on Dell Latitude laptop. Here is the example of Dell Latitude admin (administrator) password reset. What you need is just a USB flash drive or a blank CD/DVD and an available computer.
Note: The steps to reset other user account password (no matter whether it is a local or a domain one) are the same.
  • Step 1: Download and install Dell Latitude Password Reset on the available computer.
  • Step 2: Insert a USB flash drive or a blank CD/DVD on the computer, specify the burning device, and click "Burn".
  • Step 3: Click "Yes" and "OK" button in the pop-up windows.
  • Step 4: Insert the newly created USB flash drive or CD/DVD on your Dell Latitude and reboot it. Select the Windows installation you want to reset the password, choose "Reset your password" and click "Next".
  • Step 5: Select the administrator account, choose "Remove the password" and click "Next". In the pop-up window, click "Reboot".

You can easily change Windows XP administrator password by using Windows XP installation disk or by using password reset disk. If you don't have any of these disks then you can use stellar phoenix password recovery software.

Reset password

When you turn on your laptop, keep pressing the F8 key and a menu should come up. In the boot menu choose safe mode and when you get to the windows logon screen see if there is other users or Guest, try to get into one of the accounts and if you can, then go into the control panel and into user accounts and from there you can delete the passwords for the accounts.

Reboot the computer and then you should be able to get into windows by then.

Let me know how it goes.

Ben

Hi , If you have forgotten the BIOS Password there is only one way either you give your PC to an expert or you need to open the PC and reset the jumper in the motherboard.

Dell latitude c510/610

Hi foforera,

This sounds like either a HARDDRIVE PASSWORD or a SYSTEM PASSWORD. Especially if the prompt appears every time you turn on the PC. If this is the case, all I can say is that you should write down the exact message and call up or chat with Dell Technical Support since they are the only one's who can give you a password for that.

If the password you're talking about is the Windows logon password, then I would recommend that you find someone who has an administrator logon, and from there you can actually remove the password of your account. You can also go into Safe Mode, then log into the Administrator account, and from there remove the password on the account you are using.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)
