Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook
I have a dell inspiron 9300 laptop. It went into a security mode requiring administrator to unlock. I am administrator (I know my passwords etc) problem is the keyboard will not accept charaters when I type. goes thunk with each character. Mouse works fine, moves curser etc. Tried removing battery for extended period. Returns to unlock page. Can you help? Please. (I am at work now and not able to try anything at this time, but am out of ideas.)
Try using an external keyboard in order to get the machine up and running. Then do a system restore to a point where you know the keyboard was functioning correctly. If that doesn't work then try uninstalling the keyboard drivers and do a hardware search. It will automatically pick up the keyboard and reinstall the drivers. If it still doesn't work, then the keyboard needs replacing.
