1 Answer

My new Fridge is very close to the pantry which has a glass door, and I'm afraid the handle on the fridge door will break out the glass in the pantry door. Is there any sort of door stop I can place on the fridge so it will stop before hitting the pantry door. I've got 3 little kids one of them is sure to open the door to far. This is a new construction home so we cannot change where the fridge is. PLEAS help me

I worked for sears home service working strictly on refrigerators and freezers till last year. To my knowledge there are no door stop that is offered by the manufacturer. That was one of the most common complaints for the french door model refrigerators. You may try to find something at your local hardware store.

My brand new fridge, one door style will not self close.

front raise 1 or 1 1/2 inches the side that is the door hinge side is 1/2 inch higher then the handle side. Tilt it on a slit angle towards the way that will force the door with the added weight of food on door shelf's. A perfectly level fridge is a useless fridge. If its only mission is for the doors to close from the maximum range its able to open.

Most likely wherever vacuum air escapes is partially blocked. Maybe located on bottom of unit or defrost drain sometimes plays that role.

Lec fridge-freezer TF5089 faulty door light switch - how do I remove the switch from the fridge to check it?

Prying it out is the only way I know of. When you get it partially out you may be able to get hold of it with waterpump pliers or regular slip-joint pliers adjusted for a wide grip, and pull it the rest of the way out. They are made to be removed this way, so it shouldn't be damaged. If you push in the button and the light remains lit your refrigerator section may not be getting cold, because a bad door switch can send out a signal that the refrigerator door is open, in which case the freezer may not be blowing cold air into the refrigerator section. The door switches are fairly cheap online, especially compared to a service charge.

Power outage and fridge doesnt come back on when power is restored

First make sure there is power to the plug at the wall. If not check the breaker. If power at the plug, the power outage could have been associated with a power surge that killed your refrig.

Rewire a light box with four wires

I can help... but cannot see your drawing.

Let's get started:
1) By code, the microwave? should be on dedicated circuit
2) You have 4 cables that enter the box.
3) Only 1 cable will be Hot and Neutral from breaker box. You must identify this cable first.
Here is drawing:

Do you have an automatic ice maker/dispenser? If yes check and/or replace same, and also checkfor broken pipes. you may have to slide out fridge to do so....be careful as piping or wiring my also be tangled. look for leaks.Repair as may be necessary. You might also take offthe filter,be sure water is shut off, inject food coloring into the water line, reconnect everything and partially open water and look for colored water which should lead to the leak.
No icemaker? orven as last resort with icemaker, check for hidden built up frost, sometimes a tricky deal and/or turn off fridge completely and let it come to room temp (defrost the whole thing) and see what happens. A collection of new water will inticate that it was over frosted. Probably from too many door openings and closings. Be prepared with cleanup sponges and such! Note: store food properly while defrosting!

Fridge door does not close on it's own. possibly missing spring.

There are no springs to assist refrigerator doors to close.

The fridge doors can be made to close themselves by adjusting the height of the feet of the fridge. "Pitching" the fridge slightly away from the hinge will accomplish this. If the foot on the hinge side of the fridge door is slightly higher than the foot on the handle side of the door, the door will usually want to close by itself. If the fridge is a side-by-side type and this is done, one door will close by itself and the other will want to remain open (or open fully). In this case, it's best to have the fridge as close to level as possible.

I hope this was helpful.
