    Puertobori,

I'm sorry, but the solution you suggested does not address the problem of my situation.

I have an HP PSC 2175xi all-in-one printer-copier-scanner, and I want drivers to run the scanning function on my Mac using OSX 10.5.8.

You proposed links to download drivers other than OSX 10.5.8, yet the scanning driver MUST support OSX 10.5.8. HP has apparently abandoned this machine and supplies no scanning drivers for it that work with Mac OSX 10.5.8.

Because all of your suggestions are inappropriate for OSX 10.5.8, they are not useful for me.

If you have a suggestion for where I can find scanning drivers that support scanning using my operating system, please suggest them. Otherwise, please let me know that you have nothing for me.

    Best, -Hugh

    Thanks, eng_omran_77, but I use Mac OS X 10.5. These drivers are for OS X 9 or OS X 10.6, not OS X 10.5.

I think HP has abandoned the PSC 2175xi all-in-one and simply will not try to furnish drivers for scanning any longer. I had hoped to find drivers from a source other than HP.

If you know of a source other than HP, please share it with me.

    puertobori --

Thank you, but these solutions are for someone running OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) on their Mac. I am running OS X 10.5. My question is about where I might find drivers to work on OS X 10.5.8.

I think HP has abandoned the PSC 2175 and will not supply any scanning drivers for it anymore. I had hoped to find scanning drivers from a source other than HP. If you know such a source, please share it with me.

You can use a basic set of scanning drivers that come with Macintosh OS X 10.6 as an alternative when you cannot scan using the HP drivers. You might choose to use these scanning drivers for one of the following reasons:

    *
You recently upgraded to Macintosh OS X 10.6 and cannot access HP Director.
NOTE: While HP continues to support HP Director on products used with all Macintosh OS X operating system versions up to 10.5, HP Director is not compatible with Macintosh OS X 10.6.
    *
A full feature driver update is not available for your product, or your product released before the HP drivers that support scanning for your product.
    *
You have not yet installed the available HP software that includes scanning.
    *
You are troubleshooting a scanning problem and trying to identify the source of the problem.

Scan using the software included in Mac OS X 10.6
The Scanning interface for All-in-Ones is now built into Mac OS X 10.6 and is supported by the Apple Preview and Image Capture applications. There are three ways to scan from your product in Macintosh OS X 10.6:

    * Preview program
    * Image Capture program
    *System Preferences > Print

    The
Scanning interface for All-in-Ones is now built into Mac OS X 10.6 and
is supported by the Apple Preview and Image Capture applications. There
are three ways to scan from your product in Macintosh OS X 10.6:

    • Preview program

    • Image Capture program

    • System Preferences > Print & Fax

    NOTE:
Depending on the type of All-in-One you have, the product might scan
from a flatbed scanner, from an Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), or
both. After you open the scan interface, it is important to select the
    appropriate mode (Flatbed
    or Document Feeder
) from which you want to scan. If your All-in-One has an ADF, Document Feeder
will be automatically selected as the default mode. If you want to scan directly from the glass flatbed, you must select the Flatbed
    mode.

Use one of the following methods to scan a document.

Click the Apple Preview icon in the dock, or open Preview from the Applications folder.

    1. From the Preview File
pull-down menu, select Import from Scanner
      .

    2. Select your product from the list displayed.

      The scan interface opens.

NOTE: You can click Show Details
      to view settings and options.

    1. Click the Apple Image Capture icon in the dock, or open Image Capture from the Applications folder.

    2. Select your product from the list displayed. If you are using a networked device, select it from the Shared list.

      The scan interface opens.

NOTE: You can click Show Details
      to view settings and options.

    1. From the Apple menu, select System Preferences
      .

    2. Click Print & Fax
      .

    3. Select your product from the list displayed. The Print & Fax options are displayed.

    4. Click the Scan tab, and click Open Scanner
. The Printer Browser window opens.

    5. Click Scan
      to start a scan.

      The scan interface opens.

NOTE: You can click Show Details
      to view settings and options.

      If
the Scan or Print icons do not appear in the Printer Browser window
toolbar, delete the current HP printer, and add a new one. To do this,
      follow these steps:

      1. Close the Printer Browser window to return to the Print & Fax preference pane. Or, go directly to the System Preferences > Print & Fax
        pane.

      2. Select your HP product from the list displayed.

      3. Click the -
sign at the bottom of the list to remove the product from the list.

      4. Click the +
sign at the bottom of the list to add the product back to the list.

      5. Select your HP product, and click Add
        .

Scan from hp psc 1315 to Mac OSX

first remove the printers folder, then the drivers manually one by one from the receipts folder, then remove the hp software. Deselect the hp in the printer preferences and then install the hp software again. And then it should work. Check in the printer preferences for your printer, If the hp fax is in there. Remove it and select the printer and thats it.

1.printers folder is located on the hard drive-library-printers
2.reiceipts folder is located same-library-reiceipts
3.Download the software from hp website.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

To scan documents on Mac OS X using your HP PSC 1315, you need to download HP's "Device Manager" software which is available here : http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-41992-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&product=374572&os=219&lang=en
