The problem of your speaker that you can hear a static sound is your speaker is near to be busted. You better resolder the ends of windings of your speaker so it will good again.

At low volume the sound becomes variable and static ridden sometimes even turning off completely.

My first guess is dirt in the volume control potentiometers (analog-type rotary or slide volume control only).

Static in speakers when treb in turned up and volume above 50%

the output ic is cooked. it is upc1130h2 or similar.
these chips are floating ground.do not ground one speaker lead.
outputs are typically 7 dollars.
it is mounted to the aluminum heatsink inside.you need to desolder and resolder the pins, and then solder in the new one.
special heat sink compound has to be applied,or it will go very quick

Alot of loud feedback through speakers, a loud buzzing noise

What sources make it happen or which do not? All buzzing = something in the amplifier end. is it from all speakers or just one?
One external source= RCA cables not grounded. Reconnect them tightly with a twisting motion to wipe off oxidation.

Static and popping from Harmon Kardon AVR 340

Hi,

You seem have a problem with a component in that channel, the bad news is that it is hard to fix that type of problem (you would be better off if the channel died). All of the components in the final output section are part of the same audio loop (per channel), which makes it hard to find the faulty part.

Sounds to me like a bypass or coupling capacitor is faulty or need to be re-soldered, either way to fix this problem you should take it in to a repair shop.

I hope that helps and sorry for the bad news.

Sony str-de875 amp. one speaker louder than the rest

hi. i have a sony amplifier. i plug the speakers in like normal. i turn it on and the right side speeker works fine. but you half to crank it up all the way just to barely hear the left speeker. we switched speakers and its still the same effect. we think its the amp itself. we tried our balance settings. it was fine. but right now its just playing one speaker louder then the left one. can anyone help me?

Volume high but no sound only a very low static sound

Make sure the unit is not swiched to tape monitor. Check to see if all inputs and outputs are wired properly. Unplug unit and let it sit unpowered for a half hour to reset micro-processor which may have locked up. When you power it up again, listen for click of speaker relays. Make sure to turn volume down BEFORE you power up. If none of these work, take unit to pro tech for check up. It just might be a simple fix, cheaper than replacement. Good luck.
