What is the pattern of the beeps? Are they all equal and the same? Do they repeat? If so how many times? Or are the in patterns like short beep, long beep ect?

The worst thing it could be is depending on the pattern and repitition of the beeps, it could be a notification of pending hard drive failure.

There's a sound during startup

Hello,

There is no problem with your computer. It's just natural to have a beeping sound during start up. If there is, then it will show an error message in the screen.

If it's just a short beep, then it's normal.

CONTINUOUS BEEP SOUND DURING BOOT

The beep sound is sometimes an indication of the successful boot. But, if the beep is continuous, it usually means a memory problem. I*t could be a failing ram stick or a failing memory cache on the cpu. Try substituting the ram sticks one at a time to eliminate each one.

Dell beep code meanings

If an error occurs during startup that cannot be reported on the monitor, your computer may emit a beep code that identifies the problem. The beep code is a pattern of sounds: for example, one beep, followed by a second beep, and then a burst of three beeps (code 1-1-3) means that the computer was unable to read the data in NVRAM.
YOu can find complete table on Dell support site.

Most of such errors can be fixed with a system utility software RegInOut

Hearing continuous beep sound at startup that disappears on Esc

I started having the smae problem yesterday with my Acer 1410 bought end of 2009. It started after I had stoped some suspicious process to work on start up (using msconfig). During the night I scanned the computer for virus but found nothing. Tonight I will enable those process to work on start up again and see what happens.
I will post the information tomorrow.

Long beep sound during POST

The long beep during post means there is a conflict in the start up procedure in the Bios. This can be anything from bad ram to hardware failure. If it starts up and the time is wrong the beep could be your internal bios battery is dead.(just a small watch battery )

Hello, hetul58519

I installed some extra memory on my PC, didn't do it quit right and recieved a series of beeps untill I fixed what I had done incorrectly during the install. The beeping is the computer way of telling you something is not right, it is trying to audibally tell you what that is. Now, it is up to you to search for the hidden meaning behind the continuose beep. Do a search for "computer beeps" or "computer audio cues". Do you recieve any warnings other then the beep? Is the computer acting funny in any other way?
