Check out the web site, type in the numbers you have here and you should find the part or the number, size, whatever. Check it out. If the web site doesn't work, just take the first part of it and dump the rest.

The 1/2 chuck on most drill presses was/is a common chuck key, you should be able to find one at a flea market or ebay. I have a couple here, I'll admit, there are a couple different sizes but, it should not be a problem. When you get to the list of drill presses in the sears website, click on a bunch of them, see if the numbers are the same, then you will know if you have something rare or not. I just did the same thing with my planer, They don't have anything for my planer, but I found the same belt Number on all the planers, so I know I can get the belt from any model.

Take it to a local engineering sales shop. They are all basically the same and fit into the shaft with a morse taper. You just need the correct taper.

    I need a chuck key for a 1987 duracraft drill press 40160

Ebay has chuck keys. Chuck comes in different shank sizes. There are all in one types too, fits all chucks, cheap too.

What is the size of the replacement chuck key for the Duracraft DP514?

The 1/2 inch is the max size drill that will fit into the chuck. There are only a few different key sizes, and sears sells them in their tool area. Easiest thing to do is find the size of the hole the chuck fits into by using the back end of a drill bit that fits the best. Measure that drill bit or take it with you to the store. You might find two different size keys with that size pilot hole, or maybe only one. Good luck!

Where can I get a replacement chuck key for a Parkside PBTM500 bench drill

Sears sell chuck keys in all of the common sizes, of which there are only a few. If you have the old key, take it with you. If you don't have the old key then find the diameter of the three holes in the chuck (easy way to do this is to see what size drill fits into those holes) and measure as closely as you can the diameter of the gear you need. This is tapered, so measure (and double) the distance from the center of one of those three holes to the bottom of one of the gear notches on the ring on the chuck. You could also take the drill to the store with you!
    Good luck!

if there is any manufacturers name on the chuck like "JACOBS or ROHM" you would also need the chuck size 13mm or something like that, you should be able to go to a BOX store that sells tools and find the correct one. ROHM has a completely different key than other brands. Usually on the key on the back of the packaging it will give you what it fits. I would also suggest taking a drill bit and trying one till it fits snug in the hole and then look for a key with that pilot size. Good luck

Need a chuck key for model 1140b,f powermatic drill press, manual part number 6285469.

There are only a few sizes of chuck key. Easiest thing to do is first find a drill bit that fits in the hole where the key goes to determine the size of the pin on the end of the key. (Use the back end of the drill bit.) Then take any other chuck key you have and see how closely it fits or doesn't fit - just as a reference. Take the reference chuck key and the drill bit with you to Sears or any place that sells a good assortment of tools. You will probably be able to determine the correct size key from what they have available very easily. Good luck, Al K

    3/8 Drill Driver, chuck replacement.

    hi friend,
Step 1. Determine what kind of replacement drill chuck you want - a keyed chuck or key less chuck. Over the years, key less chucks have been widely used for handheld power tool drills, due to their improving grip torque and convenience.

Step 2. If you prefer replacement key less chucks, then you have to know what type of key less chuck you will need - a single sleeve key less chuck or a double-sleeve chuck. You can simply determine it by checking your current chuck. If your current chuck is a keyed chuck or a double sleeve chuck, then you will need a replacement double-sleeve key less chuck. On the other hand, if your current chuck is a single sleeve chuck, then you should get a replacement single sleeve chuck.

Step 3. Confirm the threaded mount size (spindle size) on the chuck. 3/8"-24 threaded mount for 3/8" capacity drill chucks and 1/2"-20 threaded mount for 1/2" capacity drill chucks, but there are some exceptions where just the opposite may occur. To be safe, always check the threaded mount before you buy replacement drill chucks.
