SOURCE: Don't know what faceplate to buy for Kenwood Stereo SER# r8188309

So if i understand your question correctly, you still have the stereo in your dash, but the face has been stolen, is this correct, Because if this is the case you can remove the rest of the stereo from the dash and somewhere on this unit it will tell you what model it is.

SOURCE: Faceplate on Sony Xplod CDX-GT130

Hello
Its face plate holding spring side has the trouble. It will have some internal mechanical trouble, with its lock mechanism. The set has to be get serviced to do it right. The connections when you clik it into, will be allright only when it has been clicked into place and locked. There are connection on both sides of the conneting strip of the fce plate mecchanism to be connected well with its internal cocket connections. Here only one connection is set right, and is its power, and so the power LED only lights up. Display connections, serial data, serial clock, display segment data, its filament voltage, etc are not connecting well now. There will be fault with the internal socket into which this face plate connection strip get into. This will be some fault with the connection to the socket, and the socket it soldered directly to its main printed circuit board inside. The main circuit baord is a double side prrinted circuit board, and so normal solering techniques cannot desolder this socket out from it or to resolder a new one to it. There is a special equipement to do this work, and will have only with the authorised service center. it is not affordable to a common technician to buy.
So it will be best to get it serviced by Sony Authorised Servce Center. They will do all the work and replace the faulty components with orginal one, and all fuctions of the set will be alright when it comes out to your hand. OK

Will not turn on without removing faceplate and putting it back in

Try cleaning the contacts behind the face and on the sub panel behind the face with either q-tips and rubbing alcohol or a pencil eraser. If you use a pencil eraser, make sure you brush off the debris.

Got power to cd but no display

One idea that comes to mind is,if I remmeber correctly, that model has a removeable faceplate, try this, remove the faceplate, take some denatured alcohol on a Q-tip,clean the electric contacts on the back of the faceplate and also on the front of the deck where they mate together repeatedly for about 4 to 6 times letting them dry between each time that you swab them clean, then replace the faceplate onto the deck being sure that you are seatting the faceplate completely and properly.
This has worked for me sometimes and sometimes not, its worth a try.
Good Luck !

Lighting problem JVC KD-LH2000

If your unit is a "flip face" design then I would suspect that the flat ribbon cable that goes between the flip face and the main board has lost at least one of the leads and that the cable needs to be replaced. Try Partstore.com for a replacement. Good luck.
