When spray surges, the unloader is activating. Make sure that tip is not clogged. Test with a different tip / nozzle that is correct size for your machine (gpm is marked on tip ). If changing the tip does not help, reduce the pressure at the regulator. As the unloader wears, it will not hold pressure to the point that it will need to be replaced or rebuilt (replace with new is best) .

I have a troy bolt power washer and it won't pump

You need to give more information. Does the motor stall when you squeze the handle? Does the spray surge and the motor run well? Does the spray surge and the motor surge as well? Does water come out of the bottom of the pump? Does nothing come out of the spray gun when the trigger is squezed?
All of these symptoms point to different problems.
What does your machine do?

The water pump is pretty much shot! Did you crank the pressure washer without the water being on? Most times you see this when this occurs.

I have a Honda GC160 motor on a powerwasher. The engine stalls when I release the power wand handle, but if i keep the handle squeezed, it works but the engine sounds like it is laboring.

replace the unloader of your pump....find the model of the PUMP ...not the washer itself...the pump and find a parts list and then purchase and replace the unloader. That will fix your problem. Good luck

Low pressure from powerwasher wand when trigger is squeezed

THIS POWER WASHERS ARE TRICKY, TO OPERATED YOU NEED TO OPEN THE WATER FAUCET CONECTED BY A HOSE TO THE POWER WASHER , OPEN THE TRIGGER AND THEN START THE POWER WASHER, OTHER WISE YOU WILL RUIN THE POWER WASHER PUMP.

The power washer is surging cuting in and out when i turn da nozzele to get stronger water pressure?

When I use my machine I hook up the water to the pump, hook up the high pressure line and gun, then turn on the water full and squeeze the triger to make sure all air is out before starting the pressure washer(mine is gasoline powered). Then I install the nozel on the spray gun. If you are having surgeing water pressure Check the hose washer where the water hose hooks to the machine, and be sure the supply hose is not restricted and valve is on full.
If this was helpful please leave Feedback. Thanks, SP

When I squeez the handle the pressure surges.

Hi:
The first thing i would do is be sure there is not a partial blockage in the nozzle.

Powerwash proheat

If the unit is spraying ok but your just not getting hot water you could have a defective heater even if the light is on. To test you would need to take the handle apart and see if the heater gets hot by touching it give it about 2 Min's to heat up but be careful it will burn you if it is working properly. Another thing to remember is that even if it is working properly the water won't be very hot especially if you put cold water in it to start out with. The best thing to do is fill it with the hottest water you can get from the tap don't boil it or anything but this will help.
