Common problem is a dirty card, make sure you handle the cards by the edges and not the surface as oil from finger residue will cause a misprint on that part.

This problem can also be caused by improper or too low of a setting for black intensity, where the printer does not apply sufficient heat to transfer the color onto the card.

Also check for a faulty ribbon, if the ribbon is not properly stored or is more than 3 years old, it can also cause this issue.

That paola give horrible descriptions. Do not go one way then the other with the print head angle screw unless you are positive nothing else will work. He is correct about 1/4 turn increments to adjust the angle, but start with one direction and do 1/4 turn until you have done two complete sets. if not better reset it to it's original position and then try the other directions.

The printhead need calibration,
go to driver, send the comand !SA ( to be use with with color ribbon), if still doing, lose the two screws from front plate(printhead), insert card under the printhead, send comand !D (printhead down) !M (printhead up (do it 4x), with the printhead down (!D) tie the two screws (the front plate is done. (next print test card, send command (IM).
If still have problems, louse the side screw carfuly but secure the big screw at the front of the printhead to don`t coming out with the spring,
move the front big screws 1/4 to one side, and print a testcard, do it from one side to another until have best quality print.

Does printing black text only on a Brother Inkjet All-in-One (MFC-J625DW) use the color cartridges?

Your right. Simple answer. Take the coloured cartraiges out (you may need to set your printer to mono crome though. not sure.? Save a bit more money and recycle your cartrages you get paid for them. then you can buy refill cartrages and save even more. Some say do not use them they cause problems, but i have from day one and still have no problems 29 years later!!! and i am a high user on a A1 PRINTER!!! (draughtsman if your wondering)

Ricoh CL7000 text is blurry/fuzzy

probably only when printing in colour? Black only, is ok right?
It needs to have it's line adjustment procedure done. This is a series of complicated trial and error adjustments performed in service mode that the individual colours are adjusted based on printouts generated by the printer. Can only be adjusted by a service tech with experience with this adjustment.

Check on your color (not mono) ink levels. If they are low, this could cause this.

Technical info: On this printer, envelope text is printed in "composite black" which means we mix the colored inks to make black. This is done for envelopes and not letters because of the ink properties which resist water and smear. If one of the colors is low, you'll get something other than black.

My Brother MFC-465CN is printing text with alignment off and double text.

My Brother printer MFC-465cn is doing the same thing. I have workaround / worked-around it by disabling bi-directional printing. Then print is clear. It's as if the head is shifting an irregular amount on the opposite direction, like the head is loose.

Same for copies. If I use the PC interface to make copies, I can set the copy printing to be mono-directional, then copies are clear.

Print black w/o color ink cartridges loaded

No, in general all current inkjet printers require the installation of a color cartridge even if you want only black printing.
(If you had an old cartridge "Empty", you might be able to purchase a resetter (Epson) and set you printer to print in black only.)

You can, set up your computer to print in black only by selecting Mono printout in your print set-up.

There are a few Canon printers (Older) that used to print in Black or Color only printing....but no longer available......

Printer malfunction

2 possible soultions,

1. The color required to print the text ( ie: black or a variation of ) may have run out and needs to be refilled or replaced.

2. The other way that could help, is to select only the text you wish to print, by highlighting the entire text of the email, and then press and hold Ctrl while you press P to bring up printing shortcut menu and then check the "Print selected only" before attempting to print.

This should give you only the selected text, but if your black or the color required to print is empty, it may appear blank on the page, or show a low ink error.
