Question about Sony LBT-G3300 Shelf System

1 Answer

No power Unit does not power on. I checked the fuse on the power supply and it was blown. I purchased a new fuse (5A -125V) and upon installation the fuse blows immediately after power is switched on. Any ideas from here?

The power supply fuse has blown, or the power transformer has failed, "sometimes has a built in thermal fuse" instead of a ordinary fuse.

Panasonic SC-HC3 micro system . 2 1/2 years old. Simply stopped working - no power light. Have checked plug/fuse connection etc but dead as a dodo! Is it best to bin it ?

The least you should do is with the unit unplugged, remove the rear cover and check for an internal fuse. It should be somewhere near where the mains cable plugs in.

I came home one evening and my system was off. I tried plugging it into different outlets and still received no power to my system. What could be the problem and how can I fix it?

hello, see if theres a power save buttton on the unit if not check the fuse in the plug if ok then the fuse inside the unit may blown. it may be glass type fuse it will be in the power supply if you can't see 1 then there may be a soldered in fuse called a wickman fuse fingers crossed

Audio output shorted out or blown fuses in power supply check all fuses if fuses are good your Audio out put transitors or I.C has been shorted out as a result of impedence over load in future dont connect speakers in parallel in those small Audio units.

Hi,

To my knowledge, an F61 error is a blown fuse. A workaround is to replace the fuse with the same value but specify slow blow.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

JVC MX-GT50 model help

Often there is a thermal fuse or a surface mount fuse that looks more like an IC then a fuse. Check for these. Also if you are comfortable with a meter check after the transformer to see if you are getting power there. Also check the voltage regulators. If you are not comfortable with this then off to the repair shop it goes! If you contact JVC they should be able to tell you where to find an authorized repair shop. I would suspect though that there is another fuse in the circuit board. You should be able to find it fairly easily.

Was the fuse Blown?? check with an ohm meteracross the two prongs that you plug into the wall of course you gotta unplug it for this. It should read around 4 to 10 ohms depending on the type of power transformer is in the unit.. If it reads open then theres a fuse open or a bad power transformer. If its not open check the power supply for the proper voltage from the diagram. Good luck

Fuse

If the fuse blew again then there is more than likely a problem with one or more of the boards components. First start by unscrewing the power supply and looking on the underside, you may see some burn marks. If you do then it is likely that the component above the burn marks has blown and needs to be replaced. If you do not see any burn marks then the best place to start is with the diodes on the board. If its still not working, e.g. the fuse blew again then it may be that the problem lies elsewhere on the power supply... Good luck.
