Alt code 9791

Some software won't let you type those characters directly.

You can run "Character Map" to find the desired characters, type the codes into the "Characters to copy:" pane, click the Copy button, paste them to a line within your document, and copy/paste from that string as needed. The System character set has those characters.. they're not shown, but the Alt key combinations display the characters needed.

I was able to paste the character in this post, but I got the message "Please use English characters only" so I had to remove it before I could post.

Trying to import csv file.

Try opening the csv file in a text editor like Notepad++ and see if there are any special characters present in the file that might normally be invisible. There is a setting to see special characters (View > Show Symbol > Show all characters).

It looks like you might have additional carriage return or linefeed characters. You could try exporting your records again and see if the csv's match.

64-bit hexadecimal keys are exactly 10 characters in length. (For example, 123456789A is a valid string of 10 characters for 64-bit encryption.)

128-bit hexadecimal keys are exactly 26 characters in length. (For example, 456FBCDF123400144445271730 is a valid string of 26 characters for 128-bit encryption.)

64-bit ASCII keys are exactly 5 characters in length. (For example, GMODE is a valid string of 5 characters for 64-bit encryption)

128-bit ASCII keys are exactly 13 characters in length (For example, 2008SUNSSWIN1 is a valid string of 13 characters for 128-bit encryption.)

Not able to connect the sons Nitendo DSi to the internet. They are asking for the WEP Key but on my home hub there is only a WPA Key. BT have told me to connect to you to ask for support.

If your using WPA and your Nintendo DS only supports WEP Encryption theres no way you can connect it to the internet. WEP encryption is different from WPA.

WEP key uses hexadecimal - using characters 0-9, A-F or ASCII format. The ASCII format is easier to remember. The ASCII string is converted to HEX over the network.

Example of WEP key encryption are:

*64-bit hexadecimal keys are exactly 10 characters in length. (12345678FA is a valid string of 10 characters for 64-bit encryption.)
*128-bit hexadecimal keys are exactly 26 characters in length. (456FBCDF123400122225271730 is a valid string of 26 characters for 128-bit encryption.)
*64-bit ASCII keys are exactly 5 characters in length (DMODE is a valid string of 5 characters for 64-bit encryption.)
*128-bit ASCII keys are exactly 13 characters in length (2002HALOSWIN1 is a valid string of 13 characters for 128-bit encryption.)

WPA Key is entered as a pass phrase between 8 to 63 alphanumeric characters in the ASCII format at both ends of the wireless connection. Although PSK accepts a minimum of eight characters, for proper security, it is a good idea to use ample length and should not use a commonly known phrase. This phrase is used to generate session keys that are unique for each wireless client.

To resolved the issue you have an option to change the WirelessSettings on your router to WEP instead of WPA since WEP is also a secured netwrok. however you need to keep in mind that if you change the encryption you need to configure all othere device connected to the router via WPA and change the settings to WEP.

Thanks for using Fixya

Setting secured wireless connection

You can enable WEP on your router.

In the address bar of your browser, type 192.168.0.1 to access the setup page of the Dlink router.

By default the username is admin and leave the password blank.

On the Setup page, go to Wireless.

Security Mode should be WEP then click Next.

You can change the WEP KEY 1. Make sure you remember this because you will need to enter this on your wireless computer.

Save the settings.

I hope this helps!

Can't connect with microsoft MN-510 using WPA

This means that you have to enter the network key into your computer in order to connect to the network,
If you enter the password as hexadecimal characters, you must type exactly 10 characters (5 bytes) for a 40-bit key (valid characters are 0-9 and a-f), or exactly 26 characters (13 bytes) for a 104-bit key.
If you typed any number of characters other than 10 or 26, or any character that is not a hexadecimal digit, this is interpreted as ascii string.
In this mode, each character is a byte by itself.
So, valid length of the string in this case is either 5 or 13 characters.
If this condition is not met, the string can't be accepted as a valid password.
Please check carefully what you type. (Letter O instead if zero, or small L instead of 1 etc.)

If you don't know the key, you have to connect to the router via a cable and copy the key from there - or ask your Dad to give you the information. He will have it, because he has a working connection.

If you have any more questions or this is not clear ot you, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

I am not counting 25 characters on the back of the jacket? Cannot complete installation by cd of the windows genuine advantage kit for windows XP Professional.

Hello

My name is Billy Reeves.

The 25 characters need to be typed into the fields 5 characters at a time. DO NOT TYPE THE HYPHENS!

Sorry, I didn't mean to yell, but I was just trying to make a point.

If the string of characters on the CD package are unreadable, try looking at other areas like the pamphlet that is enclosed with the CD package. Most quality software will have the "code" in more than one place. Record it, back it up, keep your folders organized.
