Question about Canon EOS Rebel 2000 with 28-80 lens 35mm Film Camera
I received the low battery indicator so i replaced the batteries. the camera still will not work. the low battery indicator still flashes & i cannot take a photo. i have had the camera for 2 years. this sounds just like "alisha"'s problem but it was not commented on. any ideas? I have the same problem. I hadn't used this camera for a couple of years (I took the batteries out during this period). Last week I bought a new set of batteries (Radio Shack brand), and when I put them in the indicator of depleted battery came on. I went back to the store and checked the batteries, and they each read 3V as they should. Then the battery indicator in the camera showed signs of life, but it indicated a low battery. When I put in a film it didn't have enough "juice" to rewind the whole thing; it went only up to picture # 9. I was able to take pictures, and the second film I tried worked fine, but still with the low battery indicator. Today I tried a 3rd film, and it struggled to rewind the film (so it's not just a faulty indicator, it seems the camera is truly not getting enough power to run properly). I haven't gotten a chance to try a different brand of batteries or to test these batteries under load. All the battery contacts in the camera look clean to the eye, but I haven't tried to clean them. Maybe I should start there...

To resolve the annoying "change the batteries" problem. Goto menu, choose yellow menu, select
file No. reset to ON. Turn camera off and back on.
