You will need to unplug it. Take a vacuum cleaner and get as much of the dust out as you can. Use a high speed fan, and try blowing it out. Plug it back in, and see if that will remedy the situation. Otherwise you may have to take off the houseing and clean it out. Also, it could have a short that you are not seeing, so check the wiring also.
