I should mention that the nutone fan was originally located on the wall and we installed the panasonic fan on the ceiling at the same distance that's why I do not belive my problem is an increase in static pressure. The fan is mounted flush on the interior side of the dry wall I do not understand what you mean by installing it lower. Lower to what? Thanks

The fan is working correctly, however, when it is on it makes almost like a ticking noise. When I put pressure on the fan (anywhere) it stops. The ticking noise is not consistent and sounds as if it were metal on metal. What do you think? It is a brand new fan.
