Welcome to Fixya!

You are saying that you are trying to configure your MS Outlook with Yahoo Mail so that all Yahoo Mail goes to your Outlook, right? If this is the case, please follow the instructions below. You have to install Ypops first. Ypops is free open source software that provides POP3 and SMTP access to your Yahoo Mail. Make sure that this is running when your configure your outlook. In Outlook go to:
( This is for outlook 2007, for other versions, configuration is the same, however accessing the configuration page may vary)

  1. Tools
  2. Account Settings
  3. "Email" tab, click "New"
  4. Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP, then click Next
  5. Fill out the form. In the email address field, put your yahoo email address.
  6. Check the box for "Manually configure server settings or additional server types" and click Next.
  7. Click "Internet Email" then next.
  8. Make sure POP3 is selected under account type
  9. Type "127.0.0.1" under both Incoming mail server: and Outgoing mail server (SMTP)
  10. Type your yahoo ID in the username field. Ex (user@yahoo.com, type user)
  11. Enter your yahoo mail password
  12. Click " More Settings"
  13. Go to " Outgoing Server" tab and make sure that My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked. Just leave the "username settings..." Then click OK.
  14. Click Finish.
Hope this helps. If this is not the fix you are looking for, please feel free to comeback.

Thank you for using Fixya!

I cannot set up Outlook with my Att.net settings. I copied the same settings as my wife's and hers works. Please help

I am really sorry to hear that, if you have done all the steps, then I would highly suggest to contact AT&T because they have a system that will just activate your outlook on their end, I believe they will just unblock something on their system then you are good to go.

Here's the contact number for AT&T phone support.

My email account will not come

You have a couple of different ways around this annoyance.
  1. Install a desktop email client such as MS outlook, outlook express, Mozilla Thunderbird. This is a more "old school" way of managing email and does not sync folders and emails on the server.
  2. You can sign up for Gmail and have it configured to check your att.net email for you. This may be more hassle than it's worth but you would get a single view into your email and not have to go through and "approve" the security trusted certificate.
Please respond back if these do not help. I may be able to provide more help.
Thank you,
Brandon

How do I setup microsoft outlook 2003 to work with yahoo mail?

Well., it depends whether you have a free account or a paid one.The server access to yahoo for the free account holder using the outlook application has been restricted by yahoo. You can not configure the free account of yahoo in outlook.
However, if you have the paid account you can configure the outlook.
Visit the below links to configure the paid account:

How to connect yahoo mail using windows mail in Windows 7

You cannot configure Yahoo account with Windows live mail.
And the reason you are getting the error because you have Micosoft outlook in the pc and that email client (MS outlook) is not configured with your yahoo mail and it is not the default email client in your PC. Windows live mail is the default email client in your PC and you cannot configure Yahoo account in windows live mail.

Hi, For yahoo mail you need upgrade to yahoo mail plus (@ $19.99 per year) to get the full pop3 service for access to Outlook,Incredimail, Thunderbird and others.
For more info on setting up your pop3 account see the links below.
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/cl...

* Incoming Mail Server (POP3): plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 995
* Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication.

If you have “yahoo.co.uk” address some users can get free pop forwarding see below.
Click “options” (top right) on your mail page>mail options>pop and forwarding>
Set up or edit pop & forwarding>type in the address you want to forward to and
click save.
* Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Use SSL, port: 995
* Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smpt.mail.yahoo.co.uk
Use SSL, port: 465.
Note: In order to be able to send emails from outlook and others through/to yahoo (pop3) you need to pay for a yahoo mail plus account.
