Question about Insignia PD10135 Portable DVD Player

1 Answer

Dvd stutter I just bought an Insignia portable DVD 10" player three weeks ago. It picks certain DVD's and either hangs up on a particular place or has a problem with most of the DVD. For example, I played the Bee Movies on the DVD Player and it hung up almost on every screen, but when I came home and played the movie on my at home DVD player, it was fine. No problems the whole way thru the movie. It hangs up a bit on the Waterhorse but then will go on after a second or two. It also hangs on our made at home DVD's. They all play fine on our non portable DVD player. Some movies, it has no problem with. I would like to take it back, but I cannot find the sales slip. Thanks for the help.

Hi lynnjunell,

I regret to hear you are having trouble with the Insignia® DVD player you purchased.

It is possible that the problem is with the DVD, even if it plays in other units. I would recommend first clean the DVD carefully to remove any residue or debris that may be on the disc. If this is still happening on multiple discs and cleaning does not help, I would recommend brining in the unit to your local Best Buy™ store to be checked out by the Geek Squad® precinct. If you are unable to locate your sales slip, the store may be able to assist if you recall some specific information surrounding the purchase. You may also call 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8287) for assistance in locating your purchase information for warranty purposes.

Thank you,
Jason,

Try using a lens cleaner. Also, reset the unit to factory defaults. Ensure that the disk you are attempting to play is clean and scratch-free. If the problem persists, you may pursue service options through the place of purchase.

Lost the AC Adapter to plug in my Insignia I-PD720 DVD Player

Our parts supplier lists the AC adapter as unavailable, but an alternative may be available. I would recommend calling them at 1-888-237-8289 or carrying the unit in to the place of purchase or an electronic parts store to pursue an alternative.

DVD Player freezes on some commercially produced DVDs

The microprocessor or memory componets on the player isnt functioning asits supposed too. This is rather troubling and there isnt any easy fixes possible.. My suggestion is seeing as its new return it and get a replacement. Chances are it will fail very soon.

Battery charge

the battery is dead. that happened to me and i had 3 choices: 1)buy a new dvd player 2)buy a new recharable battery or 3)keep the portable plugged to the wall while i watch movies. i chose number 3 because i usually just use it at places plugs are available. but yeah, the battery is dead.
