My Bosch Nexxt 500 dryer stopped heating. All other functions work fine except heat. I've checked continuity on heating element & overtemp breaker- both OK. What else could be the problem? Fuse?

CONSIDER THIS
BOTH LEGS OF AC MUST WORK TO GET HEAT FOR DRYER
Maybe you don''t have power to both legs of your receptacle. Both legs of the 220 volt AC have to work go get heat. Only one leg is used to run the motor etc.. Your motor runs so this can fool you into believing that the electrical connection is ok when it really is not. Your dryer is on a double circuit with two breakers. If one fails you lose one 110 volt leg which can be the one giving the full 220 Volt needed for the heater. This happens quite frequently and people mistakenly replace heating coils. You could have a bad breaker, one of the two. You must check this first before assuming anything else. Get help if you are uncomfortable with potentially deadly voltages

If your dryer was working and then just wont turn on after that, what could it be?

If it is an electrically heated dryer, check the dryer breaker pair in the house electrical panel--push off, then on. If the breakers hold, try the dryer again--if works, ok! If the breakers trip again, then the heater element in the dryer is likely shorted to ground. To service the elements, the drum must be removed.
If this is a gas fired dryer, check the electrical outlet with a working lamp. If nothing, check the breaker for this circuit.

No Heat

Assuming that this an electrically heated dryer, check the dual breakers for the dryer circuit in the house electrical panel. Push off, then on. If they hold, then retry the dryer. If ok, you are home free. If it trips the breakers again, then there is a short circuit in the dryer--usually the heating elements. The drum must be removed to get to the heater.

Kenmore dryer model number 110.66912691 not heating.

Check the house electrical panel for tripped dryer-circuit breaker-pair. Push off, then on. If immediately re-trips, the dryer has a dead short circuit in it. If they hold, then retry the dryer. If it now works, ok! If not, recheck the breakers as above. If tripped again, there is a likely short in the dryer's heater assembly. The drum must be removed to access the heater.

Dryer will not heat

Assuming that this an electric dryer, try the following: check the house electrical panel breaker pair for the dryer. Push off, then on. If the breakers don't immediately trip again, try the dryer. If ok, you win!, If the breakers trip again, you likely have a short circuit within the dryer. The drum needs to be removed to access the heating element(s) (which is the most likely area for the short) for service.

No heat will come from the dryer

Check the dryer breaker pair in the house electrical box. Push off, then on. If the breakers trip immediately, then you have a direct short circuit in the dryer, usually the heating element which involves removing the drum to get at the element(s). If the breakers hold, then try the dryer. If you get heat--ok. If drum turns, but no heat--check with a voltmeter across the two slanted slots in the power socket. You should read ~220 volts AC. If near zero, then one of the breakers is probably bad. Get an electrician to replace the breaker pair.

Dryer spins but will not heat . Electric dryer, whirlpool. Model leq9508pwo serial #ms4347944

Ok this can be 1 of 4 problems:

1. your breaker is connected to the only one side of the panel
2. your breaker s fried and needs replaced.
(both of these can be elliminated by using an electrical tester on the outlet)(240 Volt)
3. you temperature thermostat if bad
4. your heating element is bad.
Or if the dryer heats a little then stops heating your vent hose may be kinked or plugged.

No Heat - Electric LQC Test OK

Try and re-set your 220V breaker one time ,because your dryer will run 120V for the motor to run,and the other 120Vsupplies the electricity to heat the coil.Small chance it could be half the breaker is off.Second, if the advise above doesnt correct it than odds are its a bad igniter. Some dryers have a amall re-set on the high limit thermostsat
