Gently pull the frame off because they have lock latches.

Testimonial: "Thanks for encouraging me to keep trying to separate the outer plastic case. Eventually I succeeded, but I still could not get at the backlight."

    Thanks.

It is not obvious how to pull it off. I've tried and will try again. Are there specific places along the edge where perhaps a thin tool could be inserted to release the latches (depending on which piece has those latches).

Try pulling the back away from the front frame with a slight force as well. Pry one of the corners with a plastic or wooden material first to lift.

I have a Sharp LCD Monitor LL-172C I upgraded my computer and no longer have sound from the speakers. Someone told me to download a driver but I am unable to find a listing for this model.

For the sound to work, you do not need the driver for the monitor, driver is for the display resolution adjustment.
Do you have the correct sound driver installed in your PC? All you need to get sound to the monitor is an audio cable with stereo miniphone pugs at each end. Do you get sound if you use the PC POWERED speakers attach to your PC?
Give us more details how you have it setup.

When I connect my headhphone to monitor doesn`t work?

If you mean the pale green jack on the back of the monitor, it is not a headphone jack. It is to let you connect the sound output from your computer (usually also a green jack) to a little speaker in the monitor. That speaker is better than nothing, but sound quality is poor.

No signal

Check cable connections. Check using a different monitor.
The only other possibility is that you're trying to drive it with a signal that is beyond the capability of the monitor. But the computer boot-up (BIOS) screen won't exceed the monitor's capability.

I am looking for a driver for a SHARP "LL-172C-B"

There really isn't any "Drivers" as such for the monitor, Windows should pick it up, as the Monitor "Talks" to the PC and "Tells" it what it "Is". You simply need to connect it up, reboot and use it.

Sharp light turns green thern turns yellow screen goes black

it is going into sleep mode, good luck with this.... i am currently asking how to get my hard drive to quite putting my monitor into sleep mode.

although it hasn't worked for me because my screen stays black, one of the options given to me is to try to start in safe mode and then adjust your settings to "never" on the energy/sleep/hibernate mode

some one else suggested that i remove and reseat the video card

hopefully one of those will work for you

Sharp LL T17A4-B (Black) 17 in.

Are you using the digital connection?? If so try using both the analog and digital connection then set the digital as the Main monitor in your graphics card interface. To check if the backlight is out, darken the room, and light a flash light into the screen. If you can see a picture, then you need to replace the backlight. Good luck
