Question about PC Desktops
This is rather easy. When you are in your download folder and can see some of your desktop you are fine, if you can't see any of your desktop look at the top right of your window next to the big X, you should see two window icons vs. one window icon. If this is the case click on the double window icon and you should now be able to see some of your desktop now.
At this point right click and drag you picture to a vacant spot on your desktop. You will be given some options, Move, Copy or Create Shortcut. Select copy and you now have a copy on your desktop. Of course, you can choose Move is you so desire.
