Samsung BDC5500 won't play disc, says doesn'y fit specifications

There's a misunderstanding here, I think. It's my understanding that there are just 3 Region codes for Blu-Ray, ie A, B or C. It's true the that Samsung BDC5500 Blu-Ray player will play standard DVDs from any of the six numbered codes.I'm still seeking info on whether the BDC5500 can be amended to read Region A (US) Blu-Ray discs. My machine plays Region B (Europe and Australia).

take it apart and very carfully use a dry Q-tip and clean the lens should read disk after that
