Unplug the TV for few minutes, say 15 minutes and then turn it ON. If the problem persists, this would confirm an internal failure. This unit has a 2200uf and a 220uf capacitor on 6v line that swells, these caps are blown, the location is cp150 for
the 2200uf and the other is right next to it, if they are swollen
replace and you will be fine. Also, check the ribbon cables - make sure that they are in the connector securely, My trick is to pull them out, and
with a dental pick push on the metal connectors, so when you insert
again it is tight, if the connector looks bowed this is the problem
secure by pulling and replacing. only do this if the caps are OK.

You need to take all precautions while opening the TV for repair.Use of multimeter and soldering iron could be there.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

My mitsubishi vs-4541 clicks like it is turning on but the power light doesnt come on and neither does the tv

a old set-----power supply problem or bad solder connections in one of several areas of power or deflection boards--very common on this set---unless something easy it is not worth a shop repair as many of the parts used are no longer available.

37" hitachi plasma tv doesnt turn on

If you have a light on ( standby light ), then I would say power supply fault, tv could be shut down because of faulty capacitors in power supply. if you dont have any lights at all , check fuse in plug,
( there will almost certainly be a fuse in the tv) but, that is for a tv guy to fix.

My Poloroid LCD TV wont turn on power supply brick light doesnt

The TV needs a fairly stable and well filtered 12V power supply. A jumpstart box is 12V, but is I seriously doubt that it is anywhere near filtered and stable, so most likely you would smoke the TV.

Hooking the TV directly to a 12V battery is just fine, as long as the battery has enough current to run the TV.

RCA TV THE FAN DOESNT WORK I THINK THE FAN COOLS

yes it does keep tv cool. The fans do wear out, but sometimes the circuit that powers the fan can have overheated or burnt out capacitors and won't send power to fan. You can test power with a voltmeter and capacitors with an ohmmeter. You can parts at shopjimmy.com
