Gas normally will remain in the machine after it is shutdown. It doesn't go anywhere unless you have a problem like yours. It is quite possible the very small needle valve in the carb is leaking, and not seating properly; letting in a constant flow of gas. It can eventually make its way out of the carb if the check valves are sticking open. Disassembly of the carb will be required and a good cleaning is in order. If the carb is leaking thru the gaskets, then they either need to be replace (good idea if aging some) with a gasket and diaghragm kit or the covers on the carb just need to be tighted up.Post back with the carb name and model and for more guidance if necessary.

I have a yard machine 742rl when gas I'd in tank and fuel line hooked up gas floods out carb and fills up Air cleaner as if there is nothing to stop and start flow of gas

Those carbs have a nitrile rubber needle and seat.
When the rubber becomes worn, they leak and need to be replaced.
This is not something the average guy can do so it's simply easier to replace the carb.
That should solve your problem.

Why am i getting gas in crankcase?

You have a stuck float in the carb...the newer carbs a have a small valve that stops the gas from leaking to the ground when stuck..however it now goes into the intake and into the cylinder and open valves and eventual filling the engine with gas oil nix..I had this and found out don't mess with the carb..cause it will happen again..there is a quick and permanent fix..if your tractor has a gas shut it off if not apply one...first if you have gas in oil it must be takin care of can and will fill the entire engine here is the fix..drain the engine block change the filter then remove and ckean the tape or cover the plug..and slowly crank the engine to blow excess gas from the cylinder. Just keep the plug away..put oil, filter and plugs back..put on a gas shut off or if you already have one..keep it closed at all times when not in is the important part..when done mowing put the throttle in low and reach up and shut off the gas..let it run unti it uses up the gas left in the carb..when starting open the shut off and let open a few seconds to fill the carb..then must do this eah time you shut it down and restart....or get the carb rebuilt not to say it won't happen again..your choice..good luck.

I have a zoom 49cc x2 pocket bike. I have just bought a new carb and put on it. And my bike still won't crank. If I put gas in the cylinder it will bur n the gas and then cut off. What could be the...

Try filling the float with gas and trying it again. When you install a new carb especially on the smaller cc motors there is not enough of a draw to actually fill the float. You can try an old trick as well. Crank the motor over a few times while plugging the exhaust tip with your finger. After about 6 or 7 cranks pull your finger off while still cranking it. It just might do the trick.

Yardworks snowblower will not start with electric cord and to hard to crank

too hard to pull may indicate that it is hydrolocked. Fuel from the carb may have leaked into and filled the crankcase. Check the oil level and see if it is very very high. Watch out! The fuel makes the oil level very hard to see. If the oil is filled with gas than not being able to start is a good thing. The motor wont get enough protection from wear with that much gas watering it down! If the oil is watering down then drain it out and get some fresh oil. Make sure you turn off the gas between uses to prevent the carb from dumping fuel. Get the carb serviced to fix the problem too.

Fuel in the crankcase

Your float valve is sticking - the carb fills up, the fuel runs out through the carb into the engine.
Get a new float valve, until then - turn the fuel off at night.
