Question about Lexmark X6650 4-In-One Wireless InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I have an ACER laptop running Windows 7 64-bit Home Professional and I'm trying to connect to my wireless network, a Lexmark x6675 all in one printer device. I don't have the installation cd, but from the Lexmark website, I downloaded the drivers and installation files for my configuration. Every time I run the install and it gets to the wireless detection part (i.e., after connecting the USB, selecting the found network & giving it the key), it disconnects my wireless Quest modem/router, which then needs to be reset. Any ideas? Thanks!

I apologize for the inconvenience. I would like to know more details about your issue. When you say "it disconnects my wireless Quest modem/router", does your internet go down and your laptop won't have access to the web? Which needs to be reset, the Quest modem/router or the printer?

This may need further troubleshooting to determine what's causing this problem. I would suggest you contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

My printer is connected to another wireless network which is not the same as my laptop how do i connect it to the right one?

I`ll guess You`ll have to connect your PC to the printer with the use of a usb cable.
Then run the Lexmark software (Lexmark printer home) or similar (don`t know what you are using?)... Go to "settings"; and choose wireless setup utility. You`ll have to manually set the SSID (the wanted wireless network) and the WIFI password for this network. Hope this will help.

Where is the ink cart. on a lexmark x6675?

The Lexmark X6675 User's Guide (available at should give you a better picture. Scroll to page 111 for the instructions on how to install/replace the cartridges.
Sometimes the ink cartridge carrier won't position automatically to the middle even when the printer is on and the cover is open. Just unplug the printer from the power source. With the cover open, hold the solid white strip and gently slide the carrier to the middle of the printer. Load the cartridges. Close the cover. Plug the printer back to power source. Thank you for choosing Lexmark.

Can't get the printer to connect to my laptop. Blinking red light only. New hp G61 Windows 7. Can't find device.

I presume your printer is the Lexmark X6570 since your post is under this model. Hope you got it working now. If not, unplug the printer from your computer, then you have to reset the printer's network adapter first. To do that, press Settings on the printer > Network Setup > Wireless Setup > Reset Network Adapter to Factory Defaults. Wifi light will momentarily turn off then lights up solid orange. Then, install the printer software. I suggest you use the updated software from the Lexmark website. But check if you're Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit operating system by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. For the software, click on this link: (for 32-bit) or (for 64-bit). Download and install the software. Follow the instructions. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

Cant connect lexmark X3550 to laptop wirelessly..

If you are trying to connect to a network printer you need to install a network printer NOT a PC install. You would have to browse for the "Remote" printer, from the CLIENT. The printer that is on the "Master" PC will have to have the printer already installed and "shared" as well, FIRST. Then you go to the remote and install a NETWORKED printer....find it on the network, and connect, it will actually get the drivers from the "Master" PC, see. Plus BOTH PC's will have to have a name password & and be on the same "Workgroup" as well. If you want to enable documents to be exchanged to print between PC's you will have to enable "Sharing" on each, Drive, or Folders as well, if you wish.

Don't know where to enter WEP wireless key for Lexmark 5600

If you haven't done so, connect the printer to the network via a network cable. make sure it gets an IP address. Then on a PC, connect to the printer using the IP address the machine gets. You should get it's configuration page. That's where you should be able to enter the details.
