Question about Maxtor Hard Drive
I have two desktop PCs with PIII inside (750 & 900 Mhz) and XP professional (RAM pc133), both fully functional and each other with a couple of small harddrives (15/20 giga). I bought a DiamondMax in order to substitute one of them that was damaged but I encountered several problems (almost the same in both computers).
After having disconnected the hard drives and replaced them with the new one, I realized that both PCs were not able to "see" it when putting the jumper in the right place as "master"; nor automatically, neither using the "hdd detection" in the BIOS... Curiously, after many attempts, I came over this problem adding another jumper in the far right position! But this was not the definitive solution because now the systems "see" the hard disk as he had a smaller size: exactly 33 giga (maybe because of some processor/motherboard limit or so on...).
Can you help me?
Thanks in anticipation.
