Its time to replace the optical unit ( lens ) of the CD player. Brace yourself the unit on some of those old players can cost more than a new DVD player.

Dear Sir/Madam I have this Panasonic Hifi sys...

Try cleaning the lens with a CD lens disk cleaner, see if that rectifies the problem. Hifi systems are notorious for dust buildup being an enclosed system with an exposed cd drive deck.

My LG LM-M1040 mini hifi system will no longer read discs. It has been sitting in the same place since purchase 2yrs ago and has only been used a few times. can you help

The problem should be from the lens (laser).

The lens is weak and that's why it cannot read/load Cd's.

Get a lens cleaner and use it to clean the lens, but if the lens still does the same thing even after using the lens cleaner, then it means you would have to change the whole lens completely to a brand new one.

By so doing your player would play all Cd's with no problem at all.

Good luck.

My Initial DVD player does not recognize discs at all

replace the optic lens and the spindle motor or if you do not have time try to purchase a optic assembly so that its easily to have to purchase is the same model as your unit brand.

Sony hifi wont play cd's

Optical lens requires cleaning.
Please put cd cleaner in tray and check if it cleans dirt on lens. Still same problem, then unplug unit from AC outlet, take off top cover of hifi system and clean lens with good quality cotton bud. hope this will resolve problem.

Replacement unit for hifi player

I work at a service center in the U.S. and I have a lot of trouble getting any Phillips parts. My service center has given up on Phillips, we have had too many problems with them. Sorry to give you this bad news. You might want to look on ebay for one with a disc loading problem or some other problem not related to the cd player. Sometimes you can find them cheap. The laser would cost you in the range of $50 to $75 US if you can find one.

Good luck,

Hemera The Big Box Of Art

Check Hemera settings and ensure that the path for the picture files is the right one, where files are stored.

Hemera usually reads the picture files from CD/DVD unit, if your system had renamed the DVD form D:\ to E:\, for example , then Emera wont be able to find files anymore.

Solutions to this problem.

Check file source folder on Hemera settings, and assign the right CD path.

Do a system restore to a date before having the problem.

If still no luck, then Windows may be corrupted, in that case , the standard procedure is reinstalling Windows, then reinstalling Hemera, and the rest of the software.

ZV5370US Optical drive no longer works

Those chances are pretty high, although I would try testing with different discs, and types of discs. In example dvds, cd's, I don't recomend CD or DVD R RW discs though, they are generally harder for the drive to read. Also with the cost of replacement laptop parts you may consider trying to have it serviced before accepting defeat and replacing the unit.

Azur 640D version 1 CD-player

Sometimes CD player lenses can be covered with dust, smoke etc. You can purchase a "CD Lens Cleaner" to see what happens then.
