We have a wind column wind chaser fan and the screws look like they require a special wrench to open and clean it. Model wcft62 Is there anyway to get iot opoen to clean it without the special screw driver?

Harbor Freight stores have a 'security bit' kit for about $10 that will turn about any screw fastener made. If you have no local store, look for them on-line. Hope this helps!

My bright lights comes on when i turn on my right signal , and sometimes when im driving , any suggestions?

It is the multi-function switch. It is a very common issue I found one on Amazon for $45 plus $5.95 s&h. Search you tube for "06 grand prix multifunction switch replacement".

Step 1: Open drivers door, remove dash side panel(gets covered by door when door is closed) by placing plastic putty knife between it and the dash and pulling it away from dash,

Step 2: remove kick panel (panel that covers under dash and steering wheel) by removing the screw covered by the dash side panel and two more along bottom edge on each corner,

Step 3: remove the instrument cluster shroud/bezel by pulling out on bottom tabs on both sides of steering wheel column (tabs were exposed by removing kick panel).

Step 4: now for where the cussing ensues...if children are present send them away...

Step 5: now push in on the seam between the top and bottom of the steering column and at the same time pull them apart. Now use extreme cussing and fiddle with the column adjustments and flex and jiggle the covers until you can force them off using care not to break any of the switches or the steering column adjustment lever.

Step 6: disconnect all connectors,

Step 7: remove 2 size 25 torq screws...the bottom one requires a special tool/ bit and a 1/4inch ratcheting wrench or minimal swearing and a open ended wrench,

Step 8: replace switch.

installation is reverse of disassembly with the exception of step being moved to between step 6 and step 5.

How to open tower fan to clean? brand EuropAce model ETF1025

The EuroAce ETF 1025 How to Remove Cover to Clean.
This is for the EuroAce ETF 1025 specifically but may apply to other models. There are two screws on the back near the top where you carry the unit. Remove those two screws.. Next: About half way down the back cover there are two small locking tabs, one on each side. you will need a flashlight to see them. Take a knife and pop them open. its not hard. just wedge the blade in there and gently pry. Next and last: Push the back cover downward towards the base. There are two locking tabs that hook at the bottom of the cover. The cover is now removed. To assemble. Simply do the opposite. Remember ALWAYS UNPLUG before working.

The ignition switch of my 96 continental has to be replaced. does this require removing the steering wheel and air bag?

No, it does require opening your steering column though. This usually takes a special Torx head driver that has a hole in the center. Once you remove the screws the column should open up and you should be able to disconnect the electrical connector from your ignition and remove it.

Harmonic balancer for 1999 dodge ram 1500

well if i remember correctly that fan clutch is reverse threads so in other words to loosen it you'll have to turn your wrench clockwise. they do this cuz the rotation of the fan will tighten itself onto the water pump. anyway what i do is leave the serpentine belt on the the pulleys and that will kinda hold them steady whilst you put the "special" wrench on the clutch and pop it loose you'll prolly need a cheater bar to make things easier but not too much or you'll overcome the traction of the belt and it will just slip.

Troubleshooting airconditioners

CLEAN IT
take the case off.
look at all the filth in the back fins.
get that out without puncturing anything
or cutting your fingers, or breaking the fan, etc.

Use a hose and MIST spray.. a hard spray will bend the fins
Use 2 dull hacksw blades to straighten fins if many squashed.

Bonus: find the oil hole caps on motor, open, add oil (10w30 fine)
Reassemble.

Of course this wont work for punctured units, dead motors, compressors, etc.. but filt is your #1 A/C killer.

Get cleaning! Do it once a year, before it gets hot.
