At couple years old you should look for new upgraded maps for your device. Go to TomTom web site and search for maps. http://www.tomtom.com/products/maps/

For little more than the cost of new map, you might want to buy a new GPS (with newer maps and more features) as costs have gone down.

Ac compressor fan running backwards.

Fan motors have rotations, clockwise and counter clockwise, lead end and opposite lead end. If you are looking at the motor from the fan blade side and the wires are on the back (opposite) side of the motor then you are looking at opposite lead end. Then you need to determine the rotation of the blade. It will scoop the air, so turning the blade that direction will give you the rotation. They also sell motors that you can change rotation by changing certain wires they have added.
When you replace a motor you need to notice the rotation and order that rotation. which end of the motor you are looking at to determine it. Then order the same rotation when buying the new one.

I have a GE side by side refrigerator, with an icemaker in the door. The refig is slightly less than 6 years old. I have been out of town for a few days, but today opened the door to get something out...

Seriously? Mine just did the same thing today. The electric on the inside is fine. No cooling. there is a code blinking HRS on the inside. the ice and water were working intermittently the past couple of weeks. wtf?

I found a post describing the exact thing I have going on but it was from 3 years ago.

When i turn it on it beeps twice and flashes yellow then turns off

Hello there, this is called the Yellow Light Of Death (YLOD). When the PS3 was originally made Sony used lead free solder in their consoles. Lead free solder is not as flexible as normal leaded solder and over time due to expansion and contraction because of heat given off by the console's components hairline cracks formed in the solder joints between the CPU and GPU and lots of PS3's failed. You have got a couple of options, you can either have the console professionally repaired which is going to cost around £50. If the console is out of warranty Sony will only replace it for a cost of around £130. As a last resort if you are good with electrical items you might want to have a go at repairing it yourself. If you google YLOD you will find plenty of guides that will instruct you on how you can repair it yourself.

Please bear in mind that once a console has the YLOD there is NO guarantee as to how long a repair will last, it could be a couple of hours to a couple of years

I have a Kitchenaid washer 11 cycle about ten years old that will not spin any idals on how to repair

Could be a bad lid switch.
Could be a bad direct drive coupling.
Could be a bad timer.

Remove the 2 screws holding the control console to the top panel. They are on the left and right corners.Pull the console forward slightly and fold it to the rear of the machine. You will see a wiring plug in the top of the cabinet . Unplug this plug. Use a volt meter set for continuity and place the meter leads in the plug receptacle on the cabinet. One lead on the right hand pin,one lead on the left hand pin. With the lid closed it should read continuity. Open and close the lid while touching the meter leads to the pins, the meter should show contact while closed and no contact while open. If there is no contact, replace the lid switch.

If the lid switch is OK, remove the 2 metal brass clips holding the corners of the cabinet to the back panel.Pull the cabinet forward to remove it. UNPLUG THE WASHER. Get on the floor and remove the wires to the motor. Remove the clips holding the water pump to the front of the motor. Remove the 2 clips holding the motor to the transmission. Remove the motor. There will be a plastic piece on the motor shaft,a rubber gasket, then a plastic piece in the transmission shaft. The plastic pieces have 3 plastic pins on them. They may be broken off. The plastic pieces may also be stripped inside where they mount on the motor and transmission shaft. If these are defective buy a new direct drive coupling and install it. The front of the coupling should be flush with the motor shaft and transmission shaft when correctly installed.

If the direct drive coupling is OK. Replace all the parts and re-assemble the washer. PLUG IT IN. With the lid closed. Set the machine to the final spin cycle and turn it on.If you hear the motor running and no spin, open, then close the lid. If it spins then it is a bad timer.
