Left speaker in my 1998 chevy s10 fades out then dies

What have you tried?
Is this an aftermarket sound system?
It could be a fault in the head unit, the cables or the speaker itself.

Assuming that its and aftermarket head unit using original wires this is what I would do:

Remove the head unit to gain access the wiring behind.
Most units have the wiring colour coded and a generally in pairs for +ve and -ve, some even have them label LR (Left Rear) RR (Right Rear) LF (Left Front) RF (Right Front).

The wires are commonly joined to the existing speaker wires by insulated electrical "connectors" that simply pull apart, though only pull on the connector NOT the wire.

Half-way jobs are just the bared wired "twisted" around the joining wire and wrapped in electrical tape.

Ensure all the connectors are still in tact and

Test after removing each pair of speaker wire to which speaker is disconnected.
When you determine which wire is for which, switch the non-working left speaker over with a working one and test to see if the speaker still fades.

1. If it does not fade then your problem is the head unit - I would replace it.
2. If it does then the problem is in the speaker or the wiring.

Remove the speaker and swap with one of your working speakers.

A. If it still fades then the problem is in your wiring and you will need to run new wires.
B. If it does not fade then the problem is simply your speaker.

Hope that helps.

I can't find the codes for bluetooth pairing.

Normally, the 'factory default' paring code for a new bluetooth device is - 0000. Try this first.

If 0000 doesn't work, then try resetting the cd player back to factory settings (contact the manufacturer for further assistance).

I have an orange amsterdam phone trying to pair with bluetooth and it asks me for an activation code. I have never set one and the book doesn't tell me what the factory setting is

Pairing is a two part activity. On the device you are trying to pair with, you will need to set it to search for a bluetooth device to pair with. On that device, it should give you an activation code.
For example, when pairing with my car, I go into the menu, phone, and "pair". It tells me the activation code is 0000 (pretty common one, so you may want to try it). I put this in, and the phone pairs with the car.

Can not pair

Try pairing using the following instructions:

How to Pair the Plantronics Explorer 230

If that doesn't work, the unit is most likely defective. You can return to Plantronics if less than a year old for a replacement.

The blue and red light doesn't. Come on at all

First, make sure to charge the unit for a few hours. Next, try pairing with the following link:

I need to know how to hook up my pyle pla4278 4 ch 2000watt bridgeable mosfet amplifier

Hi, I assume you are powering regular speakers in the car, right?
The amp needs a power cable from the fuse box or battery.
This cable should be about 6 gage and should have a fuse of about 150 amps.
You will need a ground cable, also 6 gage and connect it tightly to the chassis under the dash.
Disconnect all speaker wires from the head unit, and use a pair of RCA cables to connect the head unit preamp outputs to the amplifier.
Also from the head unit, connect the blue wire to the "turn on" terminal of the amplifier.
Finally, connect your speaker wires to the amplifier.
Your speakers should be rated for at least 500 Watts, or you will blow them with this amp.

Please let me know if you have questions and thanks for using FixYa.

I have a Kenwood DNX7100 car stereo with bluetooth connection capability. The unit lost information on my Samsung U540 integration. Manual suggests hitting "Select" under the Setup Menu but this button...

First of all do you have a bluetooth kit for your head unit? if so ensure it is plugged in correctly. if it is, then you need to activate bluetooth on your phone and make it visible to other devices, once this is done search from the phone for the bluetooth on the head unit. It should read BT100 or similar. Once it has found it all you need to do is pair them normally using the code 1234.

Hope this helps
