You should not have to reset the board. Now if your UPS turned off because the power was off for awhile then yea you have to reset. Otherwise you have weak batteries

?many battries are using in galaxy 3000 g3k

If the Galaxy 3000 is a 10 or 15 KVA UPS, you need 20 batteries of the 12v 20ah if the UPS has standard backup time.
If it is a 20 or 30 KVA, probably it needs 24 batteries.
Talking about the 20 or 30 KVA UPS, if the battery is 34ah, it uses 24 batteries; in any other case it uses 20 batteries.

We have a cyber power UPS unit # 425VA connected to our garage rollup doors at my building. Whenever we do the monthly generator transfer testing, the unit needs to be reset so that the doors will operate...

Steve,

Sounds like the batteries in that UPS aren't supporting the draw for the amount of time that the transfer is happening... How long is the transfer to generator? Is that UPS tied to the generator? If not, you should consider doing that, in most cases UPS's work in the interim (between power off and generator on). You might also want to consider a bigger UPS if neither of those options is possible.

Depending on how often you do these 'tests' you may also want to test the batteries in the UPS to see if they need to be replaced.

Here is the 9120 documentation page but Eaton generally does not publish circuit diagrams for smaller UPSs like this. Some people may be technical enough to take a UPS apart but most aren't and it can be very dangerous. I suggest you contact the Eaton hardware support forum.

My ups is switching off itself immediately the mains goes off.the battery is okay with 13v.

Batteries in the UPS typically last 3 to 5 years and it depends upon several factors. including the number of times the unit must go on battery power and enviromental conditions. There are usually several batteries in the UPS and while the battery voltage may show 13 volts, this may only a float voltage and a true indication of the battery voltage needs the batteries to be tested under a load. there maybe one battery that is faulty and causing the whole battery system to fail.
These lower powered and cheaper KVA type UPS are switch over types (when the mains fail, the UPS switches over to the inverter in milli-seconds to supply mains power). It is a possibility the inverter circuit is faulty and when the mains power fails the inverter does not switch over.

The true UPS type are usually the higher KVA units (over 1500 KVA units) that converts mains power continuously via the inverter circuit. The mains power charges the batteries and the inverter drawing power from continuously from the batteries (therefore there is no switch over time lag from the mains to the battery.

Ups troubles

What is happening here is you are transferring load to battery during a power outage but on return of Line Power the UPS is not smoothly transferring back to Normal mode. As a result you are basically turning off your computer. Two options... shut down your computer orderly during an outage or buy a new UPS.
