Hi.

What the repair does is basically an update setup of your 'Hackintosh' Snow Leopard. If the problem is the installed Mac OS, and not the original Windows system, then you can do an OS update. Procedure is illustrated in the pages linked below:

Upgrading Snow Leopard to 10.6.5 (Hackintosh)

How to Update Hackintosh (OSX86)

Hackintosh page.

If instead the problem is the original Windows OS, ensure first that the two systems are installed in different partitions. You can reinstall the Windows OS either using a Dell recovery disk, or using a generic Windows install disk. If Windows is starting, and if the computer has the original Dell system installed, you can also repair Windows using the Dell repair utility, listed in the start menu programs.

Regards.

Ginko.

You have either missing or corrupt boot or system files. Run the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc or a operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot from it. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with white letters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice the percentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run to completion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows. Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair when the options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recovery console and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

Are you getting a blue screen before it restarts?

When you press the power button to turn it on press the F8 key continuously to get the options screen. Select the option to Disable Automatic Restart. This way you will get to read any error message that is being displayed before it restarts.

Oh wow, and I bet that lil netbook does not have a cd drive, huh? Now you're kinda up the creek without a paddle.

Run the Check Disk utility but you need a drive to do it.

Unable to restore system of dell mini 10

Try to check your disk here is a link to explain using your installation windows disk
If you don't have a disk you can probably find one on the net or borrow one..
Start your computer press F11 start from the cdrom with disk in and press r for repair when prompt
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb491051.aspx

You can also try safe mode command prompt

You can also take the hard drive out and connect it to another computer as a second drive and run that computers command prompt.. Type CHKDSK (Your Drive: ) /F /R... on ..Example mine says CHKDSK D: /F /R press enter type Y for yes and enter don't turn off the computer.. when it is finished type EXIT and put HDD back in the another computer and start it

After run Malware bytes to remove the mal -ware that is freezing the computer...the link Here
If you can get the malware installed and ran in safe mode or connect
the drive to another computer and run it you won't need to chkdsk but checking the disk is good because if fixes bad sectors on the drive also files...Made my hard drive run smoother and makes no noise..

When powering it up it starts to boot I get a blue screen then it goes black where do I start ?

Try starting your mac from it's install disc.
1) First turn off your computer.
2) Then restart it, right when you push the power button to turn it on, press the option key down and hold it
3) pressing the option key will bring to a screen where you can choose your startup disk. Usually, you'll see your Macintosh HD available to startup from. Don't choose anything yet.
4) Insert your install disc into the CD slot.
5) wait a couple of seconds and then clock on your install disc as your startup option.
6) after clicking on the disc, go to the menubar and click on Utilities then disk utility.
7)once the disk utility app is open hit "verify disk permissions"
8) after you've "verified disk permission" hit "repair disk permissions"
- this might take a long time depending how much you've actually done this (which it's good to do every other month or so to keep your mac running smoothly). things might seem to freeze up as well, but it's the mac trying to verify and repair broken permissions on your computer. Don't that's normal.
9) after you have repaired the disk permission, reboot your mac by quitting disk utility and then choosing the startup disk as your normal macintosh HD. That should do the trick. If not, tell us what has changed.

Dell mini inspiron 910. On boot " a disk read error occurred press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart " when I do that the same message appears please help me.

I think you have a hard disk error.
Use your recovery disk, or better still Windows Installation disc, and start the boot up using the menu to select "repair system". That will save you the trouble of having to reinstall all of your software and settings.
If it won't work, a format of drive C will fix your errors but you will have to restore all of your dadt.
Hope this helps.
