Check the fuel filter, air cleaner and muffler for plugging. Be sure the fuel and oil mix is thoroughly shaken just before filling the tank each time to prevent oil starvation. Set the plug gap to 0.020" and test the spark for being blue and snappy. If weak looking, remove the left side engine cover to expose the flywheel and ignition module. Turn the flywheel so that the magnets are just under the module poles, insert a thin business card into the gaps, loosen the module screws to allow the poles to contact the magnets. Tighten the screws, turn the flywheel somewhat to remove the card, then turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the gaps don't close up further. Replace the cover and retest spark--if ok, try for start. Hope this helps!

On the carburetor got two screws to adjust the carburetor. The first is to adjust the saw when working at high speeds. Another is when running at low revs. It is best to either put back for about 1.5 cycle of the maximum of the end of the rotation of the screws. If then the saw starts, then you can adjust it fine at higher revs (H), then at low (L). Have can be minimum screw that stops the chain.

Modle 2075 Replaced fuel hoses now wont start, It has fuel and fire. What should I check now?

Was it running before the replacement of the fuel lines? Does the primer bulb fill with fuel when pumped? Did you replace the line inside the fuel tank? Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Hope this helps!

No gas to carb

There should not be a vent hose--it probably goes to a port on the primer bulb. Check the fuel filter for plugging and the condition of all fuel lines (they should be original rubber, not plastic replacements). Try priming the carburetor with the bulb pump--it should pull fuel into the bulb after several pushes. If nothing, check the condition of the primer bulb--it should be soft without cracks or holes. The primer is supposed to pull fuel from the tank's fuel filter, into the carburetor top section, pass into the lower section through the metering valve which is controlled by the diaphragm, then out to the input port of the primer and out the other primer port to return fuel to the tank. A Poulan IPL for your saw “2375LE Gas Saw Type?” (LE is code for WildThing; if your saw is beyond serial -2 look at a saw without the LE; it makes little difference to the fuel system) can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

  • Small hose (filter on bottom) long enough to reach all corners inside tank, to lower carburetor connection. Please leave the 2 carburetor connections long enough to reverse until the saw is running.
  • Upper carburetor connection, small hose to suction side of primer.
  • Pressure side of primer (large hose) to tank fitting.
The IPL is deceptive it appears the filtered hose connects to the primer; it does not.

Change the plug, it can save you $30.

You may need to use a jumper wire between the threaded part of the plug and the cooling fins. You do not have to bend up the electrode.

An example of a Poulan 2375LE (LE is code for WildThing) Gas Saw Type 2 IPL follows (may not be your saw):

The ignition unit is item 8 on the "Engine Assembly" print. All ignition parts are listed.

If the above is not your saw, yours can be found here:

If it is a 2375 WildThing find 2375LE Gas Saw Type ?. The last digit of your serial number should be a -1 or -2, the type.

  • The filtered hose from the fuel tank connects directly to the carburetor input connection.
  • If the saw is equipped with a primer, the output line from the carburetor connects to the suction side of the primer bulb (once the bulb is collapsed it draws fuel from the tank through the carburetor to refill the bulb as the bulb reinflates).
  • The pressure side of the primer returns any excess fuel to the tank as it is depressed.

Remove the spark plug and squirt a little bit of the fuel from the gas tank into the spark plug hole, replace the spark plug and crank it over several times.

If it runs, or tries to run... that tells you that your engine, ignition system and gasoline are good (or atleast good enough to get it started)

Next check your fuel line and the primer ball. Make sure that when you pump the primer ball that you can see it pumping fuel through the fuel lines in ONE direction only. (It's kind of hard to see, you might have to start the test with empty fuel lines).

If that fails, you need a carb kit because that's where the check valves are. (unless your primer ball is cracked, broken, or clogged)

Next check the metering diafram and needle in the carb. If the diafram is hard (not easily flexible) or if the needle valve is stuck shut the engine will not be able to get the fuel that it needs to run.

If the Needle valve is stuck, just clean it and it'll most likely be fine.

If the diaphram is hardened, you need a carb kit.

If all the above is ok and it still doesn't work... check the gasket at the base of the carb to make sure that the posative pressure pulses from the crankcase are able to make it through the little holes into the carb (that's how it pumps fuel into the carb).

That's pretty much all the easy stuff. Keep in mind that a new carb only costs about $28 at most places.
