My pen is appears to have no power and unable to use - I have tried to charged but pen does not show any signs of charging can you suggest how I can fix this?

How old is it? The OLEDs on mine went south after a few years. I find the pen, albeit a great idea, the execution is junk. No user replaceable battery?? Its really planned death.

How do I replace the oven control overlay

Is it a range or a bulit in oven? Unplug or turn off power to your range/oven. If it's a range, take off the back of the range or at least the control panel area. Remove the 4 screws that hold the control panel in place. You may or may not have to remove the wires that go the the oven control, but if you do, take a picture of them with your digital camera or smart phone. Now, carefully lift up a corner of the overlay using your finger nail(s). Lift it just enough to put the round shaft of a phillips screwdriver between the overlay and the controller. Now start twisting the screwdriver so it feeds itself between the overlay and controller. This will allow it to separate the 2 parts smoothly so the paint won't separate from the overlay.

When writing with pen making straight line horizontally, line will scribble up and down

Confirm your computer is compatible for the latest release of SMART Product Drivers and upgrade using the Education Software Installer.
Disconnect and then reconnect the SMART Board from your computer, and reorient the SMART Board. If the issue persists contact SMART Customer Support for further assistance using SMART Board Diagnostics.

When trying to write a straight line, the ink goes up and down. When using the arrow and moving a window, the window vibrates up and down.

Sounds like a grounding issue. Check to see if there are nylon washers on the mounting screws at the bottom. You have to remove the pen tray first. If they are there, contact your reseller. You might have a defective board.

One of the buttons on my control pad is flat

It depends on if the issue is in the control board itself or just the overlay has become flat.A new control board would be part# WB27T10911 which is about 120.00. The overlay part number is WB27T10968 and retails for approx 85.
To replace either one you would have to remove the control panel and control board. The overlay will be glued to the control board. You could take a heat gun any heat the board up slightly to remove the overlay. Be sure not to let the board get too hot you dont want to damage any of the components on the board. Hope this helps.

Smartboard 580 draws scribbly lines

dip checking first is good. then reorient the board. press and hold the 2 large buttons on the pen tray until the 9-point orientation appears. use one of the smart pens to orient. don't just press the dots, start about 6 inches from the dot and draw an arc to the dot and hold it at the dot for a second, then release and do the same for the other 8. if there is still a problem, the usb voltage might be low coming from the hub/computer. try another usb cable or a shorter one. there shouldn't be more than 4 usb cables coming from one hub and the usb cables cannot be longer than 16 feet.
